New album is OK. I think it flows better than Blunderbuss and there are a few songs that I would call great. High Ball Stepper is a lot of fun and was hoping for a little more of that, seems like he was able to boil and condense his urge for that sound into one song really. I do love the way the album opens, 3 Women sets the tone especially when you compare it to Missing Pieces. I just dont find his output nearly as interesting as he seems to think it is, and I do miss The Raconteurs a lot.

Also, theres at least one song I find pretty fucking irritating. I wonder if anyone want to guess which one?

Looks to me like he chose his favorites from the all male band and all female band he toured with last year and whittled into one. Black guy drummer thats killer, chick on the fiddle, other stuff Im blanking on now

He looked fantastic at the Governor's Ball this weekend. I need to see him. Here's to hoping he stops by Vegas.

Jack White was amazing this weekend! His new band consists of only one female (violinist) and the rest are from the "Buzzards" line-up hence why they rocked out more especially opening with a 10 minute jam session of Dead Leaves He looked like he was having a great time asking the audience, "If you wanna sing along I'm not gonna get mad at you..." before Hotel Yorba which set the tone for a great night. I'm just glad there's still artists like Jack who likes to push the envelope by having no setlists and who can shred the guitar at any moment.

Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground (The White Stripes song)
    High Ball Stepper
    Lazaretto
Hotel Yorba (The White Stripes song)
    Love Interruption
    Missing Pieces
    Sixteen Saltines
    Cannon (The White Stripes song)
    Top Yourself (The Raconteurs song)
The Rose With the Broken Neck
We're Going to Be Friends (The White Stripes song)
    Weep Themselves to Sleep
Steady, As She Goes (The Raconteurs song)
Icky Thump (The White Stripes song)

    Encore:
The Hardest Button to Button (The White Stripes song)
    Freedom at 21
    Just One Drink
Seven Nation Army (The White Stripes song)

If he doesn't play Jolene at Bonnaroo then his headlining set is a fucking failure.

He hasn't played it on this tour so we'll see....no, it won't be a failure if he doesn't play! 9 shows in and he's played 41 different songs already....give the guy a break

I would still see Jack White live without a second thought... but Lazaretto is just not very good. I agree with you re: "High Ball Stepper," Salah. I was hoping for more of that on the album, but it seems he concentrated all of that into one song. The rest of it is just an unfocussed mess and is way to all over the place. Major bummer. I had high hopes for the album. Maybe I will come around to it after a few listens though.

I don't know if you're a member of Vault but the Lazaretto photo book that came with the most recent package said all the songs are meant to be 'singles'...

Makes sense. Lazaretto doesn't feel like a cohesive album. Perhaps White should have released a series of singles instead of as an album.

Would anyone that goes to the Fonda or Mayan shows be able to keep an eye out to see how much a poster will cost? Just wondering how much cash I should take to the Pomona show.

They were $30 last tour so it'll probably be around the same price.
