First wish list item for "twenty-ten".. That's how I will say it![]()
Was it me,or did they not have the colored spot lights this year?
They just looked like the conventional spot lights...
i agree. phresh album. i wasnt really fellin diplo's set in 08, i would love for him to come back and redeem himself.
they remind me of NASA
phresh. fellin, and HuRTin mah BaCk.
As long as Diplo plays the tunes and Switch stays at home I'm down... his set was pathetic this year. I don't think we need to hear the second drop of cockney thug brosef.
Yeah I think we can pass on this one since neither have delivered good sets in the past 2 years. Just wasting space that can be occupied by Vitalic or Skream.
I love the Major Lazer album, but can't imagine how they would pull it off live. Just too many collabs. I think it would be similar to the MSTRKRFT fiasco we experienced this year.
I didn't think that was a fiasco at all, but I was pretty F'd up at the time...
I saw Major Lazer on this current tour and to say the least, I was not impressed.

Went to a show at the Silent Movie Theater in Hollywood co-curated by Eric Wareheim (of Tim and Eric). He directed a bunch of other music videos like MGMT's the Youth and more notably Flying Lotus's Parisian Goldfish. He just finished his most recent video for Major Lazer's Pon De Floor and premiered the video at the show at the Silent Movie Theater. It's pretty awesome.
It's very similar in concept to the Flying Lotus video (black people having lots of simulated sex and dancing like crazy) but it's not nearly as graphic.
If you haven't seen his Flying Lotus video, treat yourself right now:

In reference to MSTRKRFT:
Fiasco is probably too strong of a descriptor. I guess "letdown" would be more accurate. Paul T talked it up like there was going to be a Daft Punk level stage show. I also expected more guest artists, besides John Legend. Musically I thought their set was meh, especially after the Chems amazing performance. I liked the 07 show they put on, much more fun and much less pretentious.
WRT MSTRKRFT, there was some rumor floating around the boards after Coachella that there was supposed to be a 3D or Holographic component to MSTRKRFT's stage set up, but they pissed off the designer and he quit w/o supplying them the necessary stage set up. So they threw John Legend in there as a stop gap solution.

Fuck this.
that's because its Classixx. Classixx is actually pretty good. I wouldnt mind seeing Classixx in the early day
Other than Pon De Floor, major lazor lacks it IMO. (id rather see NASA)
I dont think they should be at 2010

i enjoyed diplo's 08 set. when he played here earlier this year the set wasnt quite as good but i had wayyy too much to drink and wayyy too much fun.
Years attended: ...'08...'09...'10...'11...'12...'13!!
there set would be fun for about 15 minutes then they would start playing their weird electronic reggee shit
I have to say, they weren't "boring" like people are saying about the chems... well, actually, they were. It was repetitive. Their synths were absolutely awesome. But they didn't change them, that was the problem. I was amped when they opened, but I quickly lost interest.![]()
^ i was the same way. I stayed for a bit then went and saw the last few minutes of Atmosphere and then went to Flying Lotus
they were much better at Lola
