Of those, I preferred Bat For Lashes, but it's not a strong year for the Mercurys.

    And WTF, Kasabian...?

I agree. La Roux? Really? They might as well put Little Boots on there too.

I was going to start a thread about this earlier (IE - when you lot were all asleep), but i really didn't think it was worth it. There are a couple of albums i like a bit on the list, but nothing award worthy.

I was impressed with the dramatic change of direction for The Horrors, but haven't listened to the thing for ages.

There were plenty of great British albums released within the qualifying period. They just ain't on the list.

Yeah it seems that way, because I always thought UK albums were very consistent... this list and lists past haven't really demonstrated that.

12 i'd rather listen to from the last 12 months (some are even great).

The Answering Machine - Another City, Another Sorry
Antony and the Johnsons - The Crying Light
    Dananananaykroyd - Hey Everyone!
    Doves - Kingdom Of Rust
    Dutch Uncles - Dutch Uncles
    Fanfarlo - Reservoir
Future Of The Left - Travels With Myself And Another
Mogwai - The Hawk Is Howling
The Phantom Band - Checkmate Savage
Sky Larkin - The Golden Spike
Video Nasties - On All Fours
James Yuill - Turning Down Water For Air.

At least White Lies were not on the list, i suppose.

Bombay Bicycle Club's album is also better than a lot of that list.
