Thread: Spiders? Polar bears? Pterodactyls?

    Default Spiders? Polar bears? Pterodactyls?

Has anyone had any unpleasant experiences with unwelcome creatures while camping at Coachella? Humans excluded, ofcourse.

Bugs like to bite me a lot. So, am I gonna have to pack my state-of-the-art bug-smashing rock, or what?

    it's california, not louisiana.

i'd guess only a few minimal bugs, though. you should be okay.

Socal in the desert. You got black widows, scorpions and solpugids, plus rattlers. But, don't worry, the bass will keep them away.

I actually had a solpugid in my room one night. Holy shit! Trapped that fucker under a bowl, a real bowl , flung it into the shower and clorox'd the F out of it. In the words of Mr. Hicks "Worked like a charm"

    In other words...you'll be fine.

    Yeah, I did that too.

You'll sleep alright, they won't come inside your house, they have better things to do. Like uh...lurk, and eat smaller bugs.

no big deal.....we once had a family of tarantulas stalk us at our camp site on one trip (which also included a hive of bees nearby, a neighboring lake town where there had been several cases of west nile virus mosquito bites and mountain lion warning signs everywhere) ........only the tarantulas kept coming back to our picnic table after we literally tossed them down the road

There he goes... one of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind nevereven considered for mass production. -Too weird to live, and too rare to die.
