I'd have trouble picturing Biffy Clyro getting any bigger to be honest, and I can't see them ever really growing out of the UK...

    Emmy the Great

plus a lot of acts playing the John Peel tent at Glasto this year, surely. I should start investigating them now.

I'd really love to see Rachel Unthank take off.

    A) Because she has an impossibly cool name,

    and

    B) Because she and 'The Winterset were one of the surprise highlights of last years Electric Picnic.

Emmy the Great would be great, they should just give us a UK tent for 3 days
And tell me when the spaceship lands

Well isn't that kind of the point? Play festivals and get your name out that's how bands get recognized and get bigger. Glad you've heard of them though.

ewww no. The UK really isn't cranking out anything good recently. Franz Ferdinand and that's about it and I'll see whatever else they got recently and raise them Deerhunter, Animal Colective, Grizzly Bear etc etc etc

Oh, sorry you missed it. Here is the memo

    Memo
    RE: Johnny Marr

Please be advised the former Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr now plays guitar with the rock band Modest Mouse. The heretofore mentioned band now has relations with the proud tradition of British music. Thank you for your consideration.

Someone guesting for one album and one tour hardly makes a band British.

There is a ton of great music over here at the moment, but i certainly wouldn't include the turgid drivel that Biffy Clyro pump out these days in that statement.

ok, geez, just sayin they have an animal name, I'm not the one who has a furry fetish its that other guy.

And I didnt get the memo, but that man Johnny Marr is one hard-working dude. As far as I know, The The, The Pretenders, The Healers, Electronic, The Smiths, Modest Mouse, The Cribs, missing anything?

Totally agree on Biffy Crylo, that crap is a hot mess

I would rather listen to biffy clyro over grizzly bear, deerhunter, and animal collective anyday. I'm just not into the psych-experimental indie rock stuff. I just find it really boring. To each his own though. Arctic Monkeys and Modest Mouse would be cool.

Pipettes are like Pipettes vol. 2 now. They're not the same band anymore.
