New single out today... and fuck the lot of you for breaking the thread. Not sure how or why that's not considered bannable behaviour.

Just going to throw Muse into the same category as Linkin Park
Chris Martin just tweeted that he thinks "Madness" is the best song Muse has ever written, LOL.
Matt said it was his personal favorite...
I thought it was a good catchy song sure, but I'm still waiting for something that blows me away. This song is miles ahead of Survival though

Maybe they just operate on a different brain frequency then us.

I'm sporting my Muse shirt and listening to "Blackout" at a breakfast spot. I have Muse fever!

I guess my perspective on this is colored by the fact that I have always been perfectly ambivalent about Muse to date. I've never found them to be a great band, but I've also had no real critical axe to grind with them, and have enjoyed a couple of songs. I think "Madness" works as a pop single and is at least as good of a track as "Survival" was bad, and doesn't immediately sound like the rest of their discography (at least as much as I am familiar with it). For those who don't like it, what "sucks" or "blows" about it so much?
I actually really like "Madness" and I have never really been a big Muse fan either. It's very different from their other stuff, so at least they're trying something new.
Madness is going to make a great live song
Madness sounds like a remix of a Wham song that didn't make it out of the recording studio. And it has a Fred Durst guitar solo.
*based upon tedious fact checking.
Haha ya it kinda seems like they just threw that solo in there. Doesn't really work with the track.
Wasn't sold on the first two we've heard, but I love Madness.
Madness is the best of the worse.

They're also closing out the iTunes festival on September 30th so I'm sure we'll get a good taste of how bad this stuff is live.

I think I will choose to ignore any more input Tommy has to this thread.
