Default Jesus and Mary Chain interview

I haven't seen any interviews at all with Jim and/or William Reid regarding their reunion. Got a Google alert on it and nothing is coming in.

Seems strange that there are absolutely no media reports on this. Wouldn't mind knowing if a full tour is in the cards.

Here we go. So we can expect, not surprisingly, a greatest hits set:

KING SHOCKED BY JESUS AND MARY CHAIN REUNION

THE JESUS AND MARY CHAIN bassist PHIL KING was shocked when the band announced plans to reform last month (JAN07) - because he thought his fellow bandmates were "too busy".
The band, who split in 1998, have reunited to perform at the forthcoming Coachella music festival in California (27-29APR07), but King believed lead singer JIM REID's impending parenting duties would get in the way of a comeback.
He says, "I didn't think it was going to happen. One of the reasons is because Jim Reid's wife is about to have a baby, so we thought it would be too difficult, but it seems we're doing it now." But King admits the band won't be taking any risks with new material - with the Scottish rockers taking their musical cues from their best of album 21 SINGLES.
He explains, "I spoke to (bandmate) WILLIAM (REID) a couple of days ago and I was asking him about it and he said, 'Oh just learn 21 Singles which is the greatest hits, so it should be just all the hits."

But I love "Happy When It Rains". And it's cheesy, but I hope they do something special for "April Skies".

ive only recently started listening to JAMC, but ive heard they recently did a recoding with Shane McGowan, whats the chances of a guest appearance??? i could do with another drinking buddy.
There he goes... one of God's own prototypes. A high-powered mutant of some kind nevereven considered for mass production. -Too weird to live, and too rare to die.

The Shane McGowan vocal wasn't very recent... It was on the album Stoned and Dethroned, which came out in 1994. Who knows, though? I think I'd die and go to heaven if Hope Sandoval came out for Sometimes Always.

No. Hope Sandoval put a band together called "Hope Sandoval and the Warm Inventions" and they released an album and toured in '03, but not a lot since then besides the odd guest vocal appearance.

I'm so excited to see J&MC, I never thought I'd get to see this band in my lifetime. I do find it ironic nobody is posting about them inciting a riot since their early gigs were actually known for lots of violence. :P

Yeah, but that was in the mid-eighties. I saw them six times between 1990 and 1998, and the later shows were MUCH calmer than the earlier ones.

And then, she could stick around and do the female vocals on Just Like Honey to close.

We need a smiley for :died and gone to heaven:

If they closed with 'I Love Rock 'n' Roll,' my life would be complete.
