Basic was a very kind way to put it, Rage.
I do not like.

2014?
this album is fucking fantastic
I'm only 7 songs in but The Joplin Spider and Detroit and Little Pink Plastic Bags are all solid tunes
Bottle Rock, Napa Valley, May 9-12
Bjork, Craneway Pavillion. May 22nd
Philip Glass Koyaanisqatsi, Davies Symphony Hall May 26th
It's a lot better than expected trust me.
It's very subtle but at the same time very very intimate. It's not an album jam-packed with singles or anything, but it's quality stuff.
i like about 5 or six songs. most of it runs together. and he uses his microkorg a lot which is a bit irritating if you have one and know the sound settings but i need to give it more listens. not bad though
I really like the album. It is very basic, and definitely very different than previous Gorillaz albums. I think the best way to describe it has already been said, intimate. I think that's what Albarn was going for though, since this is sorta like a tour diary he's said.
8 tracks in and I am digging it.
This is what Plastic Beach would sound like if Albarn had spent all of his money on drugs after Demon Days and couldnt afford a good studio and couldnt get collaborators. Its still Gorillaz, and its still amazing.
well that is quite an interesting record. I'll have to give this a few more listens.
let me get this straight only sub division members can download it for free?
very very good album. extremely different but demon daysish.
Definitely enjoying this album more than this Laker game. I think Revolving doors is my favorite, along with the Womack track. It has the same sort of dreamy quality as Animal Collective's autumn-themed EP from last year.
megaupload sucks. cough.
I cant wait to listen. Computer is still sick so I cant d/l it yet but im a patient fellow

"Aspen Forest" was my favorite track, but I wish that it had some vocals in it. "Revolving Doors" is pretty cool. I forgot the other tracks already, but like I said, I just did one listen. Plastic Beach got better and better for me with each listen, so maybe this will be the same.
it is really much more like a demo cd than an album. I wouldn't call it anywhere near incredible, or expect plastic beach like growth, but there are some cool ideas throughout.
loved it. gave it quite a few listens. i think albarn really got what he was going for. pretty cool to think of how it was made on the road while your listening to it. it really is a journal about america
about halfway through and im fucking digging it. Parts of The Joplin Spider are making me have a glitter freeze effect. This pretty damn good.
Has the cover been posted in here already?

we really should think of it more as a demo cd than an album.
I'm going through the new album for the first time today. So far so good. I'd only read about it coming out yesterday.
Just a little anecdote: last night I was listening to the last Massive Attack album in the car with my kids, and my daughter recognized Damon Albarn's voice in "Saturday Comes Slow," and she wistfully asked, "Is there a new Gorillaz album out soon?" And I remembered, hey, YES there is! My kids are all excited now. I just need to actually download it instead of streaming through youtube.
