Juliette Lewis covering PJ Harvey's "Hardly Wait" in the movie Strange Days. There's a really nice clip from the movie, but it cuts off the end of the song.

there is no artistic value with cover songs, but the Stones probably had the best choices. That was a different era. Besides "giving props" to their favorites, I can't understand why a modern well-informed band would bother recording a cover song. It's counter productive with their own thing and a waste of time.

So Cracked has an article about 5 cover songs that the coverer stole from the songwriter, and their number 1 is Cash's cover of Hurt. While my gut screams All Along the Watchtower, I think I have to agree. That song was written for Johnny.

The Flaming Lips plan to cover "War Is Over (If You Want It)." Sweet Jesus, I'd love to go to one of their NYE shows (in Oklahoma). Oh, and Plastic Ono Band are opening.
