There isn't an opener for the Phoenix show. It's billed as An Evening With Pearl Jam. For shows with no openers they've been hitting the stage at about 8:30, give or take a few minutes.

Ok, great. I get off work at 6 & need to pick up captncrzy from work. Just wanted to make sure how much time we'd have to get dinner first. Thanks for the info.

The Dallas show crushed. Longer than three hours, tons of energy, great setlist (above), fans were completely into the show.

Eddie and company are really asserting themselves as anything but over the hill grunge rockers this tour. To see them is to like them!

St. Vincent(Annie Clark) has said she's a long time 10 club member and also covered "Black" at her own shows a couple years ago.

Only the third time in 20 years that they've played OKC. Band had some fun by making the T-shirt and sticker for the show last night be Sonics colors. A little worried that they played Wash, In Hiding and Satan's Bed since I really want those at some point during my three-show run. Now, for the first time in 10 years, I can say this: Pearl Jam's next show is in Phoenix.

Posted this in the Phoenix thread, but figured I post it in here, too. Preshow info: The Wishlist Foundation is having their preparty at McFadden's. Get a wristband at the door and $1 from each item you order will go the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. They'll also be doing a fundraiser raffle with a bunch of different prizes. Some PJ stuff and some random stuff. I think a pair of loge seats for the ASU/UA football game is one of the prizes. I'll be in the GA line, but just thought I'd throw that out there for you guys. Preparty starts at 3 p.m.

Also, just a heads up that Jobing.com Arena no longer has free parking. I think most lots are $15 for concerts, but you might be able to find a spot at one of the Westgate lots and park for free if you get there early or drive around enough. Parking map: http://www.jobingarena.com/parking_map.aspx

And here's video of St. Vincent and Carrie Brownstein joining the band onstage in Dallas:

Have there been video screens at every arena show?

Thought they only did that for festival sized gigs and the odd shed.

Yeah, there have been screens at every arena show for this tour. It's something new they've been doing. And from what I've read, there are a ton of cameras around the stage at the shows so we might get another Touring Band-like DVD or something. And for those going to the Phoenix show, we might be in for a long one. They haven't played since Saturday and they don't play again until Thursday.

When I saw PJ in 03/05/09/11 they had a 3-4 camera guys crew members just hold $1,500 handheld camcorders casually shooting away. They did this at plenty of shows but very little of it was ever seen publically. There's a bunch of footage from various shows on PJ20.

What's odd about the screens is that fans can sneak in cameras can get some nice "screen shot" footage. Ever better when mixed with soundboard sound and some alt angles. There might be some REALLY cool PJ video boots forthcoming.

That was unreal. I don't have time to post the setlist now, but 35 songs and 3 hours...the first encore was unreal. And I was front row on Mike's side for it all. I'll post more tomorrow. I love this band soooo freakin' much it hurts.

I just woke up about 20 minutes ago to get ready for work and all I could think when I opened my eyes was, "Did last night really happen?" Long Road AND Release to open? Bee Girl, Around the Bend (first time in seven years, 10th time ever played), Hard to Imagine, Footsteps and Alone in the first encore? And then Nils Lofgren came out for RITFW?! Never, ever thought I'd be at one of these types of PJ shows, let alone one that happened in my home state. I'll post some more pictures later today. Now to wait for LA.

Not to take away from this, but Eddie did play it on an almost nightly basis on his solo tour in '08. Still obviously really awesome with a full band though.

I enjoyed that show a lot. First time seeing them since Vitalogy tour in 1995 at Soldier Field. The whole night felt like a celebration. The crowd and band synced and it felt communal even. With very minimal stage production they know how to own anena from start to finish. Release really set a great tone early in the set. Loved the entire run of songs in the 2nd encore. Eddie was pouring wine for fans in front and drinking wine all night long acknowledging it being their first visit to Phoenix as Pearl Jam in 10 years. (Eddie played here on the solo tour).

Yeah, that's what was cool about those solo tours. He tended to play songs that would be considered PJ rarities fairly regularly.

OK, I guess I take it back about the setlists. I havent checked this thread in a while but I'm getting pumped for tomorrow night and actually enjoying looking back at all the setlists, so thanks. Super jealous of that Phoenix show too, hope we get something similar for SD and LA1.

So is 8:30 still accurate for when they are starting? And how is the whole GA floor section? Packed, or decent amount of space?

They went on at 8:20 last night. Last night GA was really packed in the center, but we had plenty of room at the very edge of Mike's side up front. It's wide open in the back of GA.

I got to will call at 3:00, so a half hour after it opened, and there were maybe five or six people ahead of me in my line. The lines at the merch truck were worse. There were four lines and each were probably about 20-30 people long and they had been selling merch since 12:30.

Edit: Here are a some of the pictures that I took last night.

Yeah, all shows have had a 7:30 start time listed on the tickets and in the 10C emails. They've been consistently hitting the stage between 8:15 and 8:30, though. I'll probably still try to get there by 7:30 on Saturday, though, depending on how the ASU/UCLA game is going. Really wish that would've been an earlier kickoff.

Going back to the Phoenix show, forgot to mention that Randy Johnson was walking around taking pictures all night. He's a photographer now and I've seen him at other shows around the Valley, but it was still cool to have walk literally inches away from me. Here's a link to some of the pictures he took: http://msn.foxsports.com/buzzer/stor...concert-112013

Enjoyed the show. First time seeing them. Our seats were fine but kind of wish we'd been on the floor. There's always something to be said for being around people who are going apeshit over every song.

Did they *really* play 10 songs in the 1st encore? Didn't feel like it.

No "Black" or "Last Kiss," goddammit.

WHAT IN THE GOOD FUCK WAS THAT.

Seriously. 3 hours and 23 minutes. My 20th time seeing the band, and there's no doubt in my mind this was the absolute best. These guys are on some whole other shit this tour. After what was probably the most mediocre setlist I've seen when they played San Diego last in '09, I entered tonight with guarded optimism. My 3 most elusive songs that I haven't ever seen have been Hard to Imagine, In Hiding, and Wash...after 5 shows last tour that list still remained intact and it was really nice to scratch one off in the first hour of this show tonight. Tremor Christ was an obvious audible that Ed called and was stellar. Full band Setting Forth was great. I've seen 5 shows a tour since 2000, and I think this was the first time I've heard Light Years since that 2000 tour, my favorite post-Yield song of theirs. Sleight of Hand was a nice surprise and was really good. The only Backspacer tune I didn't see last tour was Speed of Sound, and it's my favorite song from that record so it was great to get tonight.

And, what's more is that this show felt like it was over 3 different times. I've seen them close with YL, Baba, and RITFW several times before, but only one of the three songs, and always as the final song of the night. But to get ALL THREE of them in the encore to close out the show?!? Absolutely fucking insane. I wasn't quite as excited about this tour as I have been for past ones, in that I never thought I'd live to see the day where the band put out an album worse than Riot Act, yet to me they did with LB. And at the same time I really enjoyed all of the tunes they played from it tonight, the really bad ones were left off the setlist.

Fuck. Looking forward to GA on Saturday, but won't even bother to compare the two shows. This won't be topped.

i'm in the same boat, wasn't that stoked on this tour, but DAMN i want to go to a show or both this weekend, but probably won't due to the fact that tonight was damn near perfect. WOW. 1st time seeing Baba, which i thought was NOT happening when they did Ledbetter, but then they started tuning guitars & Jeff came over saying 1 more. need some time to process tonight but...FUCK seeing them live reminds me why I love this band so much.
