I missed Meth & Red last year. This is starting to look more and more attractive. 3 acts so far that I want to see.

At Rock the Bells last year all Meth and Red did was talk about How High 2, i think they actually played 5 songs in between the How High 2 talk.

Another reason why live rap/hip-hop is usually a joke.

Live hip hop is a joke because 2 artists (who actually have one of the best live shows) talked about their movie instead of performing on one occasion. Your logic escapes me.

Because hip-hop artists seem to be about themselves much of the time and it takes away from the performance. Rap is an egotistical genre by nature so that's not surprising. Plus, I don't like guys screaming on mics throughtout the show. Even Public Enemy, who has a good band and Chuck D., has become more and more annoying because of Flavor Flav.

Hip-hop is a joke live compared to other genres. Atmosphere and The Roots are a couple of exceptions to this.

I saw redman and method man in 8th grade. They opened for DMX and Jay-Z.

Pretty good from what I remember.

But yes, the majority of live hip-hop sucks. There are some really good ones out there though.

So if Morrisey does a rant on meat, Do I go "man that's one of the reasons live rock is a joke he's so full of himself."? I don't care if you don't like live hip hop but your reasoning is pretty ridiculous.

That's not my only reason for not liking hip-hop live. It just certainly doesn't help. Hip-hop artists' vocals usually sound very very flat to me in concert. And, like when I saw Wu-Tang Clan, a lot of it is just screaming on mics.

I saw Wu Tang twice and both time it was a huge train wreck.
