Noticed that. I was hoping for a bigger edm add, oh well.
yeah, when I wrote that I remembered they played 07. They were in my plans, but yeah shit came up, and sunday in 07 didn't happen for me. They are MUCH MUCH bigger in Europe. They couldn't sell out a HOB here if they had to.

This festival is all about the waffles. Some bands play too, but mainly it's the waffles.

I could survive on waffles and Beer for a few days and be a very happy camper. Especially considering they do both extremely well, from what I hear anyway. How much is beer at the festival and what kind of selection do they have? Surely in a country partially known for it's beer they're not going to pull some only Heineken nonsense, right?

The main thing i remember about the beer is how small they are. Oh, and it's this stuff.

Right up until Coachella 07, I was a big Placebo fan. I haven't liked them since Coachella 07. Hug disapointment. Majority of their set was taken from their newest album Meds, which I wasn't a fan of. They played very few songs I actually wanted to hear, however, all the songs I wanted to hear sounded like shit. I can't listen to Placebo anymore.

Uh-oh. My fingers are crossed for a decent performance then. Yikes, not much Sleeping With Ghosts huh? Oh well. I guess I've been warned.

On a side note, I'm going to get to Paris on the 23rd and flying out on the 27th Rendez-vous. I wonder if there are any good shows in town then, must be at least one.

Hal, I read about the little beers as well. 25 cl or 8.8oz using our system for 2 euros. Odd but not a bad deal considering it's a festival.

Grizzly Bear @ KOKO on Aug. 18th

Hal, I get that there are tons of venues. But what are the more popular ones for Coachella type bands?

    Already on my radar:
    KOKO
    Scala
    Cargo

I take it that shows sell out quickly as well?

Jeff, are you looking at shows in London? When I was looking for shows in London in August, I noticed that Grizzly Bear show. I will 100% NOT be in London then though. If am in London on the 20th, I am thinking of going to Animal Collective.

Oh right haha. Cool. I will be getting into Paris on either the 24th or 25th. So sometime we will figure out when to meet up in Paris. If you are interested in Museums, Becky found a Museum pass that gives you one day entry into ALL the museums in Paris, and it is cheaper than buying a one day pass the Louvre. If you are interested, I can send you the info.

Please do. The museum pass I found was 2-4-6 days starting at 32 Euros. But you have to go to a ton of museums to make it a good deal.

Man, I'm really looking forward to this trip.

Need to scope out venues in Paris as well.

    w00t!

Bought my Rock En Seine ticket yesterday and my Pukkelop ticket today.

I am flying into Amsterdam Tuesday the 18th or so. Then making my way to Pukkelpop. Camping is open Wednesday to Monday.

After Pukkelpop I am thinking about heading back to Amsterdam to go camping for a few days. Then I will head to Paris.

I am trying to apply to be a steward at Bestival. But I am not sure if they will accept international volunteers without a visa.

I am going to Paris for an event called Drupalcon September 1st - 5th. It is a web developer conference for software called Drupal which I do full time.

I have been searching for something to do in Europe before/after Drupalcon.

Pukkelpop, Rock en Siene, and Bestival all worked out perfect. Rather than paying for a place to stay each night, I can camp at a music festival.

I have a secret obsession with Oasis in which everyone makes fun of me. I really enjoyed Defiantly Maybe and What's the Story Morning Glory. I don't know much about any of the other albums. I have never had a chance to seem them live. Hopefully it is cool in Europe.

I saw Vampire Weekend at Coachella and thought it was bad. I might give them another try....maybe they got better?

I like Bloc Party's Silent Alarm album. I haven't caught them live yet. Hopefully that is fun.

I have been skating boarding since age 5 and have always listened to The Offspring. I am pretty excited to finally see them live. I wonder how many of the really old songs they will play? ...Session? Beheaded?

Not sure how I feel about Faith No More....I will probably check it out. Should be interesting.

I just saw The Prodigy last week, at Coachella, and will probably see them a few more times...

MGMT I will see a lot this summer as well...

I am pretty excited to check out Macy Gray.

Now sure about other bands. Who should I start researching??

Madness, Faith No More and The Prodigy are the bands I am most excited for.

If you don't know Madness, you should. They are always a party live...

Bad sound quality, but it shows what the crowd is like in a Madness show.

I am also excited for Yeah Yeah Yeahs, who are billed ludicrously low in my opinion.

As for smaller bands: Noisettes, The Horrors, Kitty Daisy and Lewis as well as Metric. Also Birdy Nam Nam are an awesome french electronic DJ group. But they are most likely going to conflict with Faith No More.

So today my friend told me that he is playing this festival.

I just looked at the lineup.

Holy fucking shit. This is one of the best lineups of any festival I've ever seen.

Where and how can I purchase camping gear? I need some decent equipment as I will be camping at multiple places of over the month in Europe...

    Any ideas?

No clue on finding camping gear. I'm bringing a tent, pad and bag with me. If you need to I'm camping alone and will have room for one in my tent. Has anyone camped at a Euro festival before? And by that I mean, what's this I hear about having to put a tarp under your tent in case of rain. This has me slightly concerned....

And I'm so close to hitting Rock en Seine as well. All I need to do is find a job for at least a month before Aug. and I'll be golden. After seeing the Prodigy for the first time last weekend I've got to get in on more of that action.

I have heard camping at Pukkelpop is nothing like most European festivals. As in, not a mud pit.

Here is a picture of the pukkelpop campgrounds...

    and some campers...

Seems extremely dense, but no sign of mud. In fact, the oposite.

And I'm so close to hitting Rock en Seine as well
Haha, really? Awesome. Let me know if this is your plan.
