    Default Fleet Foxes

All the acclaim, all the excitement people had and all those who wanted to see them and not one of you has anything to say about their show? I assume I was right and they bored people to tears.

I don't think anyone but the Fro' even had them in their top 5 of the weekend. What gives? Can we all admit they aren't special? Is it time for them to fade now since they had a packed stage with an unmemorable set? Maybe this years Vampire Weekend?

I thought their harmonies sounded great...at least what I heard over the thump from Thievery Corp. They don't have great stage presence, but they recreate their recorded material well. I eventually gave up the aural fight and went to dance to Thievery Corp.

The bleed over from main to outdoor this year was brutal. I was so pissed off and offended when Moz was heard over the last two Leonard Cohen songs. So fucking wrong.

    Perfect set list. Perfect harmonies.
    Great attitudes & blissful environment
I really could not have asked for more from their performance.

Fucking amazing stuff dude. So perfectly in tune.. "Ragged Wood", "Sun Giant", "White Winter Hymnal", "Sun It Rises", and "Mykonos" were my favorites. The sun setting while they were playing was so appropriate and beautiful.

I loved them so much! The Outdoor Theater can be tough because you need a good spot to hear things, but their sunset set was amazing. One of my faves of the weekend.

They were great but it could have been a better show if they had had 10 more minutes, no mixing problems, and less of a sound bleed from TC.
    Upcoming Shows:

Going to Weekend 1 of Coachella 2014

They were great. Why pump them up to the people who didn't bother to see their set? If you didn't care enough to see their set why do you care after the fact.

In Morrissey's defense, it is a festival with very precise timing, and Leonard Cohen was 10 minutes late. With that said, I was angry too.

I was too busy having an awesome time at Thievery Corp to see Fleet Foxes.

Agreed, though I would have loved to hear "Blue Ridge Mountains" as well. But I know they only get so much time, and what would you sacrifice for it?

I loved them in NYC last October, and they were even better on Saturday.

Well I'm glad I was able to instigate some love for them. I mean they do get a load of praise and I found it pretty odd that no one created a thread or was talking about their set at all. I understand the love for the harmonies especially since that seems to be a lost art in music today. I saw them play 2 sets at Sasquatch last year and they really did bore the living fuck out of me. To my detriment I didn't have the patience to really spend time listening to them and those live sets were so slow I wanted to sleep so I simply gave up, then all the press started to come out about their album and how awesome they were. I guess they are just one of those bands i'm not going to get. They don't seem to be as much of a flash in the pan as say maybe Vampire Weekend turned out to be.

I loved Fleet Foxes-was up front so only heard Thievery Corp, between songs. I would have loved to see Thievery also-sounded great from what I heard. But i have seen them before and love Fleet Foxes so I stayed there!

They were fucking boring. I think they're really talented and I like to listen to them at home, but I felt they didn't translate well to a large, outdoor venue with THUMP THUMP THUMP THUMP going on everywhere.

    Sincerely,

They were my #2 show of the weekend behind MBV. I camped out for a long time to get a lovely front row spot for Calexico > FF > Band of Horses, and it was fucking so well worth it. Their performance was transcendent and their time slot and stage placement was absolutely perfect. (Calexico's was as well). It was everything I hoped this set would be. My first time seeing them and they sounded amazing. Their live performance never translated well to youtube or television, but it is now clear to me that you just have to be there. Maybe you just have to be in the front too, who knows.

When I came home, seeing Calexico as the sun set and Fleet Foxes go into darkness from the front row center at the Outdoor Theatre was literally the first thing I bragged about when asked "how was your weekend?"

Aww! You look so happy in that photo. That's pretty much how I felt, just amazed by what I was hearing. Those harmonies were really tight.

The Outdoor theater is tough you have to be close to be able to really get into the show, but man Fleet Foxes were the perfect come up to my favorite day at Coachella this year. I can understand why many could not get into it though, especially if you weren't able to get a good spot. I thought they were amazing though.

I feel like Fleet Foxes can be enjoyed better in a more intimate venue. Too many people, too loud. gotta set the mood. but they were still good

Undoubtedly, one of the best sounding performances overall at Coachella. While their stage presence is clearly not as riveting as that of other bands, considering their genre of music, the sound was absolutely mind blowing. The lovely sunset in the background definitely added to the perfect aura around the outdoor stage.

edit: minus the Macho-man stereotype with his ninety pound girlfriend in front of me who would randomly scream out "WOO, SUCK MY DICK" during the flawless harmonies. When he wasn't screaming obnoxious things, he was starting pretend fights with people who tried to pass him, lighting cigarette after cigarette (when he couldn't get anybody to share their weed with him), and annoying the shit out of everyone near him. Way to go, bro.

You guys have all failed to mention that this is only their second real festival performance and specifically their first BIG festival performance. (They played at Treasure Island last year)

And they acknowledged that, Robin said something like, "We're not really used to this yet, but thanks."

They're a fantastic band in an intimate venue yes, and I personally thought they brought the best they could for a festival. And to all that have said sound-bleed ruined them, I don't buy that. That's what you pay for when you go to a festival, so oh well.
