Post Coachella High and Post Coachella Depression

Always curious to see how long it takes people for the high to wear off (assuming it does does for some) and when the depression hits.

This year, I'm having a mixture of both as soon as I got out of the car after an 8 hour drive.

Random and kind of missed connection, but I discussed this with my cool neighbor on Thursday night while setting up our camp sites and talking about post Coachella depression and I can't remember their board name. If that was you, hit me with a PM.


Also, just wanted to give it up to cool neighbors in general and their offerings to the camping experience.

When I got home yesterday morning I took a bongrip and started crying.

This week is always rough.

I am still riding the good vibes, I haven't really ever got a coachella depression in the past, so I don't expect one now. I am guessing having the boards is the reason for this. Cheers!

I was still wearing camping bracelet while at work today until a manager was like, "You know you're not there anymore, right?" Had to break it off, and had to stifle a tear. That did it for me.

But "feather" is right, i do find myself smiling more.

I'm definitely sad it's over. My "normal" life consists of grad school and work. My grad school program (school psychology) is ultra-intense, requiring a lot of time and mental effort. I really needed Coachella as a break from it all, but it wasn't long enough. I should have gone on Thursday.

I was ready to cry on Sunday when I hugged Joann goodbye and realized I was leaving all these cool people on the west coast the next morning when I flew back to Texas. Almost cried on the plane ride home. AND almost cried at work today.

Did I mention I almost started crying typing this? Post-Coachella depression sucks.

I felt that way around Fresno. I wonder what it's like to camp Sunday night. Never done it in four years, always drove back to SF Sunday night. Even last year, I could've stayed but felt like I was wasting time. Is it depressing sleeping there and waking up knowing there's no more music?

The thing stopping me from depression about not being at Coachella is knowing there's plenty of music to be heard elsewhere. Next stop: Yann Tiersen and Asobi Seksu.

The high is over quickly once I arrive back home from the last day of the festival.

Monday morning after you say your goodbyes to everyone you've been staying with, the "post Coachella depression" really hits me like a bag of bricks. It's a combination of physical and emotional exhaustion that's unlike anything I've ever experienced. Those Mondays suck.

Does anyone keep getting sensations in their wrists from the camping pass even though it's no longer on? Every time that happens I have some flash of memory from the trip.

Yeah it's true, but next time you go to a show that's really epic you will move on.

when i woke up monday morning, i realised something in the air was different. ive been pretty depressed. it already feels like so long ago and i really want to be back there, and both my facebook and twitter can verify this.

im still feeling good today (tuesday). I also find my self smiling more. when i take a shower, on the toilet, lay my head on my pillow i get flashbacks.

I just want to stay in that polo field with loud music and beautiful people laughing, dancing, and enjoying each others company. Goldenvoice should make coachella a year long festival! WE WOULD NEVER HAVE TO FEEL SAD EVER AGAIN!!!! sooner or later the depression will hit me....hard.

jesus the cure was beautiful. i never really liked them until that night. out of the ten festivals i have been to, this one surpassed them all. maybe it was the camping, maybe it was all the people i met and became friends with, maybe it was all the crazy things i saw and/or experianced, but ive never felt that great of a vibe at a festival. ill have this high for another few weeks or so. coachella 2010, here we go!

I was too busy smoking, eating edibles, going to cannabis clubs and rushing it all to make it to Squirrel Nut Zippers at the El Rey. A good way to end Coachella. Looking forward to Ladytron/the Faint this weekend! So many good things going on this summer, how could anyone be depressed?! Let the good times roll!
