anyone else have security complaints? Place them here?

I got carded 6 times on Saturday alone. I even got carded IN the beer garden while i was buying a drink. What the hell is the use of the wristbands if they card you everytime you try to enter the beer garden.

i honestly dont know why i kept getting carded. yes, i look somewhat young. but what pissed me off was the loads of underagers that went right in without being hassled.

i'd have to give the uniformed security a thumbs up this year

didnt seem like they had the entire US armed forces on leave running security like they did last year with squads of security guards running into tents just to bust some kid smoking a joint. i hardly even noticed they were there other than entering and exiting and i never saw anything bad that required them.

Shit man, I got "too close" to sidestage entrance barrier at the Sahara and this motherfucker just pushed the shit out of me. It was whatever, though even if it was completely uncalled for.

i did the same F@#$ING thing! i cut mine off from friday and put it on my GF's LEFT arm instead of the right one! i realized what i had done when i got back to the festival on saturday and they asked "right arm please" to put on a new one for me... i'm glad we realized it before she got embarassed at the gate...

i walked right in all 3 days, never even stopped for a pat down or asked to empty my pockets. I wasn't the only one either.

I only saw one altercation, near the main stage after YYY some indio PD had a knee in this girls back and were talking to her boyfriend I guess. the girl was like 5'4 and 100 pounds soaking wet, not sure why she needed to be treated like that.

Security gets a HUGE THUMBS UP from me this year. Seriously. They were chill and friendly, and they didnt power trip on people at all. In fact, I saw some of them being VERY respectful and friendly to people who were smoking herb...they just asked them to put it out and once the people did, they walked away.

Seriously...Coachella Security gets MUCH RESPECT this year.

the poser norte looking motherfucker working the camping entrance on sunday night. had the attitude of a TSA officer at auschwitz and was obviously under the influence. a friend of mine gave him attitude in kind after getting tired of his shit to which he responded by asking us where we lived. his coworker told him to settle down and for us to get lost. it seemed as if it wasnt the first time it happened that weekend...

the security guards that we got all three days were really nice. all three days i brought in snacks and lots of cold water. the security guards would just smile and have me move along. on saturday i took some pringles in and the security guard said "be careful with these, i know they're so good that you can get your hand stuck trying to get the last couple of crumbs out" i laughed and i offered him some, and he took some. on sunday as my hands were occupied with my wallet, phone, keys, cash the security asked me if i can please lift my hat off, he saw me struggle trying to do it and he said "thats fine man, here let me get that for you" and then he told me to have a good time, and enjoy myself. all three day were like this.

lol yeah, but alot of them were nice. this older security guard was "guarding" the artist trailer park entrance (where you need a mainstage/sidestage wristband to enter) and i walked right thru like five times with only my vip wristband. the whole time he kept saying "back again son?" really nice

While checking into the campgrounds I was hassled a bit, I had a lot of stuff, so after I got frisked they made me stand out of the way as they checked my last bag. Anyways, one of the security guards walked up and passive-aggressively said, "Yo, you're gonna have to move" I just pointed at my bag and he yelled, "I don't care who you're waiting for, move along!" Then I told it was my bag I was waiting for, obviously not listening he said, "Hey if you can't move then I'll make you move, toothpick!" Then the Irish temper I inherited came out, I raised my voice, "My Bag, Choptop!" (keep in mind he was some hick army-trash with nascar sun glasses). I won.


But honestly, I understand keeping things tidy, but he was a way out of line imo.

ppl were complaing about mentioning how to hide drugs on the board. that didn't hurt much. in fact all of the things mentioned on here on how to do stuff youre not supposed to be able to still occured in vast amounts.

anyways, the only day security checked me was friday. the other two days i didn't have to empty my pockets or anything. sunday i had an effing huge backpack, they opened the top that had a sleeping bag covering everything and then let me through


i was at the fence up at the very front after the knux and when okkervil river was taking stage when this lady that i had been sitting next to all morning with her husband fainted. we were screaming at security that we needed help and they just looked at each other like idiots and mumbled to each other and didn't do a thing. she regained consciousness and we told them she was up again. a minute later she faints again and her husband starts taking her out of the crowd. we yell at all the staff up front again and they do a repeat. five minutes after her husband took her away, (after fainting once more as they walked) a cameraman gave me a bottle of water for the wife. freaking pathetic, felt so bad for them. i think they were from ireland and were prepping to stay up front all day for the cure.

also its really amusing/unsettling to see all the security being trained like tots an hour before the gates open

Was it the old guy? He seriously searched EVERYTHING. He opened and smelled an empty water bottle of the guy in front of us, then he broke the seal on my fiances sealed water bottle to smell it, wtf?! Then he tried to confiscate my fiances prescription heart medicine!! Guy was an uber douche.

Security inside: complete assholes. They reminded me of that military security company Starkwood on 24. I don't knwo what happened to the other event company, but they weren't anywhere near as bad as the jerkoffs that you had inside this year.

we were smokin a j in the tents at the Do lab when security walked past.. and instead of being hassled he tells us to "keep smoking!"
it was pretty awesome and completely made up for them taking away my energy bars at the entrance..
i was able to see one kid getting tackled at the entrance and escorted out. other than that, i didn't see them all that much.
