    Default Gang Gang Dance

Anyone catch their set instead of MSTRKRFT? I thought they put on a great show.

I was hoping they would be on the lineup again this year but the lineup is too full of awesome to complain... I'll still hope though.

    22 January 10

4AD can reveal that the label have signed New York outfit Gang Gang Dance, with a new album - the follow-up to 2008’s Saint Dymphna - due later on in 2010.

Comprised of Lizzi Bougatsos, Brian Degraw, Josh Diamond and Jesse Lee, GGD established themselves with the release of God’s Money in 2005, following a string of underground releases having begun in the same experimental Brooklyn scene as the likes of Animal Collective, Black Dice and TV On The Radio.

Sounding like a mutant melting pot for the likes of Timbaland, The Pop Group, AR Rahman and elements the UK underground (collaborating with Tinchy Stryder for the avant-grime of 'Princes'), Saint Dymphna cement their status as one of the most essential and influential acts of their generation, garnering the following praise:

    "Arranged with exquisite precision." Guardian

"These tracks are meticulously constructed to engulf and consume." Village Voice

"It turns out the band behind that curtain really is made up of wizards." Pitchfork

"Startling" (Album of the Year) FACT

When they were here they were so amazing that the speakers caught fire.

I was lucky enough to get this shot...

"All of you coachella 'regulars' have nasty boy pussies and itchy dick4's on your asses.
Why don't you all make like a tree and get chopped down and die. You all have been dreadfully mean to me.
I Hate you. All of you. None of you will ever get to see a womans chest meat or finger blast hott cougies like me.
Fuck you all. Consider this my resignation.

Everyone should miss MSTRKRFT all the time.

We also missed the Chems for Glass Candy in the same tent right before that.

    Felt good man.

So Gribbz....what do you think of the new jam? Maybe I'll dig it more after a couple more listens but it sounds quite poppy (for GGD) and I think they are showing signs of really missing Tim's influence (he's still gone, right?).

Eye Contact still remains one of my most eagerly awaited releases of 2011.

I started out at Glass Candy but went to Chems. Big mistake. Then I stuck around for MSTRKRFT and their big, special production. Left after 10-15 minutes of forgettable mediocrity, headed to a meeting spot by the exit, heard the Killers doing "All These Things That I've Done" while flashing the lyrics on the screen on the way out. Really, really should have stayed for all of Glass Candy and stuck around for Gang Gang Dance.

At least I got to see Glass Candy at FYF. GGD is on my definitely see (conflicts permitting) list for Primavera.

I really like it. They've been playing "Glass Jar" live for a while now(I first heard it at Coachella 2009). Gang Gang played a few other new songs at their Troubadour show... definitely more upbeat/ravey but still bizarre enough to keep me interested. Also, Tim is still apart of the band. I don't think he ever left, actually.
