I frequented the Dome on Friday (filling up h20 & my locker) and it appeared they had technical difficulties the whole day....very quiet.

My only Dome experience was Friday night laying in my tent, pretty damned exhausted. Macca was closing up and fireworks and random shit were going on and then i heard a mix of "Going in for the Kill" by La Roux come from the Dome.. and it pretty much completed my day.

The dome was alright during the fest, but was somewhat lame afterwards. Too much dubstep and repeated tracks.

I feel like that was the case of most electronic music...I could not count how many fucking times I heard Smells Like Teen Spirit and Thunderstruck by AC/DC
    "It's in the K" - Martha Stewart

Since the show list is very minimal...
    August 29 // Chemical Brothers w/ Chromeo & Yacht @ Hollywood Bowl
September 26 // Vampire Weekend w/ Beach House & the Very Best @ Hollywood Bowl
October 5 // ARCADE FIRE @ Henry Miller Library
October 13 // Corin Tucker Band @ The El Rey
(someone should give me Sufjan Stevens tickets, aint got none of those)

I agree with you about this. Too much of the same all over in the sahara and the dome.

They actually didn't have any difficulties other than the fact that the Pure Filth soundsystem is so amazing the main stage acts were complaining about noise bleed and they were forced to shut down more than once.

Man, I was one of the biggest advocates of this stage this year, only to show up and find they had erected the dome in dust world.... I hardly spent any time there.

Only stage that wasn't on nice grass. I really wanted to see Flying Lotus, but I seriously pity anyone who was chilling over there while MSTRKRFT played in the Sahara. There simply is no competition or comparison. The banginest party all weekend long versus some subwoofers in the dust. No thanks, the dome fuckin failed. Only decent bass music moments this year were Crookers (eastern jam slayed that bitch), Buraka Som Sistema, and Roni Size Reprazent, which was fucking massive I hope some of you caught some of it...

Flying Lotus! The set was mind blowing. I was expecting to chill and bob my head listening to something more mellow but he was out control. It was my goal to see him and it was accomplished. That was my only high light from the Dome. Can GV book more up beat or some other type of DJs for this place?

I'm thinking a helmet might be a nice offering for next year...Then again, I'm also wondering how one manages to "get dome" in the Do-Lab." The place was packed everytime we went in there!
Its like the Infinite Monkey Theorem, if you put X amount of monkeys in a room with a typewriter and ask them to give you Shakespeare 99% of them will fling their shit at you while the other 1% will masturbate in the corner.

LOL at all this. especially eastern jam. is that the only dubstep song they know? and to be quite honest, flying lotus was incredible. pure filth's soundsystem was more bass heavy to me than the sahara because you could literally stand in front of their cabinets and subs, they had a 20,000 watt system if i am correct

Robert Plant would probably be on there somewhere too.

Agreed. I was front and center for Flying Lotus, and can only think of a couple other times I've felt bass envelope my being like that. He was the only dome act I watched and he slayed.

No, but it's a dancefloor classic, and even though I own it on wax and have dropped it tons and heard it dropped tons it still stokes me out to hear it on a good system. But I agree, they should have played "Saxon" or something more recently released. No disrespect to Flying Lotus, I really wish I could have seen him, I'm sure he killed, but I had lasik surgery recently and the dust was killing me. Glad to hear peeps had a good time.
