    Via Facebook:

We are very proud to announce the re-mastered versions of Loveless and Isn't Anything are due for release on Monday 7th May.

We will also be releaseing a brand new compilation, EP's 1988-1991, which will include the 4 EP's from that period, plus other rare and previously unreleased tracks. Stay tuned for more.... MBV.
If someone from the band or label went to the trouble of getting organized on social media, this may actually be happening.

That's awesome. The EP album is certainly now on my "get" list. Now I don't have to pay in upwards of $40 to get a copy of the "You Made Me Realize" EP!

Sadly, "We Have All The Time In The World" is not included.

These are photos from the band; they go on sale next month. Pre-orders are up on Amazon UK. I imagine North American info will be forthcoming.

Pitchfork interview with Kevin Shields. There is a soundcloud link to one of the "new" unreleased tracks from the ep comp floating around, but it seems to not be working at the present moment.

The new track is totally C86. It's so cute, because it's still got their guitar noise, but everything jangles underneath.

It's interesting to read this thread and see all the fucking idiots bragging about not wearing ear plugs while watching this set. It's not some badge of honor to possibly damage your hearing for a band.

you didn't need earplugs for the Coachella set, alot of the noise got spread out in the atmosphere. it wasn't as contained.

but in an indoor theatre/club, you're a fool for not wearing plugs.

Huh? I'm not sure that some of you know how hearing loss works. I was there, it was more than loud enough for ear plugs to be necessary. You're still getting exposed to too many decibels in that open environment. I also work with the hearing-loss community every day. It takes less than you all think to cause damage.

And you see that some of the same people who didn't wear ear plugs said they had ringing in their ears? Ringing in the ears is a sign of hearing damage.

Buuuuuuuurn. Damn, Amy, coming out wit the big guns today.

I said they were idiots for bragging about not needing ear plugs, not for actually not using ear plugs. I don't think it's smart to not use ear plugs at shows, especially My Bloody Valentine, but I'll give you an idiot pass if you're not foolishly puffing your chest out for not needing them.

Seriously, too many people confuse what they can physically tolerate with what is actually damaging their hearing. Our ears weren't designed to be exposed to the amount of sound that we expose ourselves to at shows. To say you didn't need ear plugs at My Bloody Valentine, is to say that you're basically a cyborg. It's just ignorant.

But I think they're meaning more they don't need them to tolerate it, in that MBV is known for being so loud as to be intolerable for some. I've seen them four times now, twice with and twice without ear plugs, and the show (especially the holocaust section) changes substantially without earplugs. They create overtones that get lost in the muting effect. Worth the hearing loss? Probably not, but oh well.

That is a high price to pay. I was wearing ear plugs. Maybe you just need to wear really good ear plugs?

you need to get some professionally molded earplugs from an Ear Nose and Throat doctor. they'll do a mold of your ear that will bring down all sound levels equally rather than just getting those shitty chunks of styrofoam that block out everything but very muddy bass sounds.

So I heard something is wrong with the remastered albums, specificly, a labeling problem. Has anyone picked these up yet?

All I've done is listen to all of these. Makes me so happy especially the EP compilation stuff I hadn't heard before.

I can't tell much difference in the Loveless masters. Some spots I notice things like a chorus being louder or the female vocals coming in a bit earlier but nothing that would make me pick listening to one over the other. Hadn't notice that mistake the review mentioned so Ill have to listen for that.

So I want that new album and for them to tour so badly.

I want to know when these are coming stateside. Wiki says May 7, but every time I look on Amazon or Amoeba, it only lists the import versions.
