    That or they're gonna dick around for another two weeks while we post about how angry we are. Coachella in late January is all about ill-informed speculation on the internet; I'm surprised the LA Times got it out this early.

    It's not coming out today. Just because the LA Times confirmed 10 bands doesn't mean anything. In fact, they just say they're all expected to play. "Also expected to perform" infers that RHCP, Bjork, and RATM, are also only merely "expected." In addition, don't be suprised if KROQ doesn't mirror the Times' article. I know you feel that because two sources are confirming 10 bands, that you should also immediately be informed of the other 140, but that's not the way it works. Write a letter to your congressmen about how unfair it is.

    Hasn't the LA Times article always come precisely one day in advance of the announcement? At least in the past few years it seems like it's gone down that way. Tomorrow should be the day.

    The "also" could just as easily refer to the word "perform" as it does to the word "expect(ed)"

    P.S. "Rage Against the Machine will reunite for Coachella, Red Hot Chili Peppers and Björk also top the bill for the three-day music festival." sounds pretty definite to me. as in, more than just an expectation.

    that's true but journalists are pretty anal about words. using the word expected definitely covers any liability, esp. for the bands listed in that sentence.

    that's true but journalists are pretty anal about words.
    There have been alot of naive comments on this board over the past 48 hours, and this rates up there at the top.
