Dudes, the crowd for Gorillaz is going to be IMMENSE! There's nothing else going on other than Yann Tiersen to close the festival.... they best bring their A game, and A doesn't stand for animated!!!

agreed. i hope ( and am fairly confident that) they will minimize the animated thing. they did on the last tour, and im confident that while the characters are amazing, damon albarn understands that they dont really have a place in a live setting ( it was dope when murdoc and 2d did the muppets thing from the balcony for demon days live though )

The scheduling is brilliant. It minimizes the sound bleed for Thom's set (ala Leonard Cohen), and it allows them sufficient setup time for Gorillaz. And I think Damon will bring both the visuals and the music / guests.

If Thom plays more than an hour and a half I'll be happy... plus they play right next to each other, so it won't take five minutes to walk over from the theater.

Leave right after Thom finishes up his solo part of the show. That's when he plays all the Radiohead rarities. You'll get a good dose of Thom performing solo and Radiohead stuff, and it will give you enough time to make it to Gorillaz and hopefully get a decent spot. That's what I hope to do.

I feel like we should hold back the expectations a bit. I'm sure the show will be phenomenal, but I have my doubts that there's a 1.5 hour break just because the set up is so immense. I mean, there's a 1.5 hour break between MGMT and the Dead Weather, but that's just to keep it quiet for Muse (presumably). This is a 1.5 hour break to keep it quiet for Thom.

Roger Waters only needed a half hour to set up. Just sayin'.

good luck with that "decent" spot, Just try not to be an asshole by pushing everyone, because that's gonna be the case i'm afraid. There will be at least 35-40,000 camped out before Thom even starts.

Murdoc is acknowledging that he has no part in the live show, which makes me think itll be like demon days, with maybe backlit performers, or something like that. The best part is that i know that ill be totally wrong and they will just blow me away with something crazy and new. im beyond excited.
