Default First hour of Macca or second hour?

I'm thinking of seeing Paul McCartney on Friday but I'm also tempted to see the Presets and most of Crystal Method. I know the Crystal Method are going to go way past midnight and I'll probably get to see an hour of them, but that's irrelevant if Macca's 2nd hour of stuff doesn't match up to the first. And if the first hour is chock full of Wings songs then I'm going to be irritated that I'm missing the Presets.

    Thoughts?

Neither. He must play Les Petits Bills which is how the French say "Let It Be!"

I learned that in French class.

I'm the same, Passive. I want to catch all 3 of those acts too - the only difference with me is that I really only want to hear the Presets perform "Talk Like That". The rest of their material I don't care for too much. I only have 1 live set of theirs and they played it first so I think my plan is going to be to start there, wait for that song to drop, then go check out Sir Paul until I get anxious to go to Crystal Method.

How long past midnight do you think Crystal Method will play?

im in the exact same boat as you.. from what i've heard the more epic beatles songs that i'm familiar with will be in the latter part of his set.. so now im thinking ill catch a good 30-40mins of the presets, sprinting over to maccartney to catch some of his awesomeness.. then when ive had enough awesomeness, sprint back to the sahara for the crystal method

    shits gon get crazy

Presets vs McCartney = Presets with some degree of difficulty.
Crystal Method vs McCartney = McCartney easily.

there's some confusion that I wish to be cleared up.

Why is Paul McCartney called Macca? I've never ever heard this before this past February. When did this start? I've known Jacko for Michael Jackson(still doesn't make any fucking sense) and that's about it.

its a rhetorical question: I don't care why he's called Macca, I just think it sounds really dumb.

I'm just catching the second hour, Lee. I also want to catch part of APTBS and Patton, so I'll be starting at the other side of the Polo Grounds as is.

I'll be tripping, so it depends on how I'm feeling, but I'll prolly do the Presets/McCartney thing. See ya there.

The only right way is MY way.....

McCartney comes on at 10 to play "Jet"

    THEN

You run your ass over to Sahara as PResets starts at 10:10

    AFTER WHICH

You fly like a fucking beagle BACK to the MAIN for more McCartney.

As the Crystal Method are for glue-sniffing GED-hopefuls, they do not figure at all into this equation.
"All of you coachella 'regulars' have nasty boy pussies and itchy dick4's on your asses.
Why don't you all make like a tree and get chopped down and die. You all have been dreadfully mean to me.
I Hate you. All of you. None of you will ever get to see a womans chest meat or finger blast hott cougies like me.
Fuck you all. Consider this my resignation.
Fair the well, you elitest scumbags."

I feel you, Lee. I'm thinking second hour, but I really don't want to miss Crystal Method, so I'm going to catch the first and most of the second. Second hour is bound to contain "A Day in the Life," which would kill me to miss.

I'm missing his first half for The Presets (FUCK YES CAN'T FUCKING WAIT FUCK) because after seeing thousands of his set lists, looks like the half worth being at is the second.

Well I feel like the decision is more like; do I see the Presets and catch the last part of Macca because that's when he plays the Beatles stuff, or does he play all that in the first place and then play the non-Beatles stuff in the 2nd half? If it's the latter, then I'll probably split mid-way to see the full Crystal Method set. If it's the former, then I'll see the Presets, most of Macca, and then an hour of the Crystal Method by my estimate.

Yes, by all means, miss some of the greatest songs ever written so you can see some stale dated 90s electronic Chemical Brothers wannabe irrelevant duo.
Oh wait, you're the guy who's jizzing over seeing Paul Oakenfold at EDC right?
    That explains everything.

From what I understand, "Macca" is his British nickname. I had never heard him called that until I was in London in 2007 and it was all over the front page of a tabloid, him with a girl in the Hamptons or something of the sort. Still haven't really heard any non-British sources refer to him as Macca.

And for god sakes, just see the full McCartney set, everyone! When sorting through conflicts, I just go see whoever is less likely to come around again. In this case, the Presets are obviously going to tour more than Mac in the future and for MUCH less $$$. Even if they both tour, $100 for a Mac seat at a stadium sucks compared to $15 for a Presets ticket at a small club.

Hey Lee, I'll be doing the Presets and then the second half of Macca.
It's going to be a great way to end the night.

I'm sensing that the Presets will be really fucking packed on Friday night. I will have to run after Silversun Pickups.

your reasoning is sound, but I have almost no interest in standing in the same place for 2 or more hours to catch a full set of McCartney...I love checking out a huge variety of performances at Coachella, makes it way more fun for me

ive seen paul four times, and every time it seems that the second half of the set is more beatle heavy. His sets usually follow this template:

Open with beatles song (Hello, Goodbye, Drive My Car, Magical Mystery Tour)
First 45 minutes of set: usually he gets most of the Wings/ new material out of the way during this time, with a Beatle tune here or there (Can't Buy me Love, All My Lovin).
After this he'll pull out the acoustic and play songs like Yesterday, Blackbird, Give Peace a Chance, Something arranged for acoustic. This is a very cool part of his set.
After this he usually gets on the piano and starts churning out the hits.
His last few songs and his encore are not to be missed (A Day in the Life, I Saw Her Standing There, Sgt. Peppers.)

So, to answer your question, the second half of his set is much stronger.

it doesn't hit you until the second hour, but that doesn't mean the first hour is worth missing.
