Sleeping in your car

Me and two friends are coming from the bay area on thursday and crashing in my car thursday through sunday night. We are going to coachella sunday only and plan to venture around LA the days before the concert. Anyone think its a bad idea or think we wont be able to find any spots chill enough to just park and sleep at?

It's not allowed at the venue; I've heard of people doing it en masse at the Indio Wal-Mart parking lot. That could cover you for Sunday night, but I have no idea as regards LA.

I have read up a little bit about sleeping in your car in the Los angeles area online. I am more worried about troubles with the law than any other kinds of dangers.

i think there are some dirty motels about half to an hour away from idio that are like 30 bucks a night. Sleeping in your car in LA? not a good idea. maybe you should stay further south in orange county its like 40 min drive downtown LA. you should head for the beaches in orange county and sleep like a like a beach bum.

last year cause i couldnt sneak my underage sister into camping we did the sleeping in the car thing, just find a motel that isnt shady and parking their parking lot. it worked fine for us, and hell there was a couple that pitched a tent on the hotel lawn by the dumpster.

we heard screaming at 6am, aparantly someone turned on the sprinklers on em heh.

if you are trying to find a place to park and sleep in la I would say head over to studio city and park in a residential area, its one of the safer places.

They patrol the beaches after 10pm(when beaches "close") for this reason

you and your friends should of saved up a little extra cash to grab a hotel a couple nights.

i've heard that there are some hostels in hollywood. i dont know exactly where but I've been told they are some on hollywood blvd. check it out online.
