Where do I park?

This is my first time going and I'm coming in from Texas and probably won't arrive till about 2 a.m. Friday. I have a camping pass, but I have several questions.

Will they check us in at that time into the camping site?
if so
Will they check us in while we're in our cars?
or
Do we have to park somewhere and then get in line to check in?

Where do we park?

Campers in lot C can leave their car there throughout the weekend (i.e. overnight.) You are not allowed to do the overnight parking thing in the general parking lots.

So you can move your car as in go to the grocery store or get coffee or something but you don't want to park in the other lots.

I always make a game while parking. How many scalpers can I run over without getting a dent.

When you check into camping they give you a parking placard for your car. They won't tow you from the general lots if your placard is showing.

Hey arson fella - there will be people arriving/checking in all night/morning long. There's also staff directing traffic the entire time, and the people arriving are mainly campers so you just follow the line into the camping parking lot, and there's people there directing you where to park. You can get your stuff out of the car and check-in/get searched; could easily still be a line at that time. GPS mentioned a parking placard - you get it at registration and have to hang it on your rearview mirror. That's the OK to park over night. Just remember you have to make at least one trip back to your car to hang the parking thing, so don't kill yourself moving all your gear at one time. Some people pull up near the registration and dump their stuff, then go park. All depends on how much of a zoo it is and how long a line.

If it's a real long line, just butt in near the front. That's okay with me. It's easy to do if you are alone. Not so easy in a group & if you have a wagon or huge ice chests.

Arson - you WON'T be alone at 2am on Thursday night/Friday morning. The last 2 years we arrived mid-day on Thursday and got into the camping grounds pretty quickly. Come 10pm and it's pretty packed. By midnight, it's unreal. So, suggestion: have plenty of cold beers with you while you wait to get in... Most excellent...
