Airborne Toxic event would be epic, I have that all-acoustic album, but it's doubtful.
Conor Oberst probably acoustic set...yeah?
As well as Calexico.

What do you mean by acoustic? As in solo? Just the singer and an acoustic guitar? Or as in a person in the band plays an acoustic guitar?
Conor Oberst...most definitely, or a number of his songs I would imagine. I don't think his whole set will be an "acoustic solo" though.
Any and all sir! Yeah, solo's nice but basically nothing more than a fiddle, acoustic guitar, piano, etc.
no drums. heavy synth.
mellow.
Kinda like Brett Dennen last year, even if he had an electric guitar at one point. It was bright. Acoustic can be band. Like....
nothing heavy.
okay...that might've been a bad example...here's brett dennen from last year:

Noah & The Whale will play several songs like that as will Okkervil River I'm sure.
The only all-acoustic set last year was Spiritualized. This year I'm not sure.
yeah, conor's trying to disappoint us this year. you will hear no sexy solo songs and you will not be serenaded. get ready to line-dance, fuckers. <3
Remember you have to be a headliner or pretty close to get a long enough slot to do more than one set. Some artists do acoustic sets to mix it up some in longer shows but not a 45 minute show. So really it's acoustic songs, which is even harder to predict.
Thom Yorke hopefully...
acoustic sets 2009:
My Bloody Valentine
Girl Talk
Mastodon
Bloody Beetroots
Public Enemy
um, Fleet Foxes, fellas. Fleet Foxes. Acoustic, the whole time. At least on TV they were. Maybe they'll bust out the metal for Coachella.
Doesn't Thievery Corporation begin their sets with just a guy with an acoustic guitar and then gradually bring in the meat? That's what I remember hearing anyway.
Ron Paul 2012!
Upcoming Shows:
Four Tet
Coachella 4/20-4/22
Death Cab for Cutie/Magik Magik Orchestra
Radiohead
some other bands
yeah that's what i mean!
it's too bad there aren't more singer/songwriters this year. John Butler, Brett Dennen and Jack Johnson all played last year. and I missed two of em.
ah, your looking for:
James Morrison
Paolo Nutini
M Ward
Ryan Bingham?
etc
Silverson Pickups did an acoustic version of their first albumt aht's really good...but it's highly doubtful they would do that for their Coachella set
Spiritualized stripped down and acoustic last year was a VERY nice surprise though
It's not highly doubtful. It simply won't happen unless there's a power outage. I saw a couple of those videos though, awesome.
I went to a Porcupine Tree concert one Friday the 13th and they had audio problems, and because of that I was able to see Steven Wilson perform his cover of Alanis Morisette's "Thank You" on acoustic guitar. That was a great moment.

Beirut I suppose would qualify. Mostly brass and accordians.
and sweet, tender crooning.
James Morrison, I think, is acoustic by design.. Not sure, don't like him.
Airborne Toxic Event is just.. yeah have fun.
Jenny Lewis will be acoustic. I think M. Ward will be as well.
see you in '12
i think Amanda Palmer counts as acoustic... Piano is acoustic, isn't it?
