The name of the thread is "best HIP HOP act" not best rap act, that's why clipse isn't invloved.
And I got to admit, k'naan and peanut butter wolf aren't getting to much praise as they should
i look forward to some good responses here because I have no idea who is going to be good. PBwolf will rock it is all 1 know
I was convinced that rap and hip hop were different genres when I was 17 and didn't listen to rap.
Clipse is hip-hop
Clipse, PE, Lupe
I'm doing a lot of running around on Sunday. Fortunately for hip-hop shows, you really don't need to see the whole thing to get the point. I'll just watch until i hear a few of my favorites from each then move on, because being a hip-hop fan along with a MBV, TG, YYYs, No Age & Cure fan......
damn I'm fucking screwed on Sunday.
Hip-hop is the genre, rap is the vocal style. Can the world not be so complicated? Peanut Butter Wolf is hip-hop but not rap because he doesn't fucking rap. Clipse is both, seandlr wtf are you talking about?

re: the last three pages. There are 10 hip-hop acts and they've all been covered.

"rap lacks creativity and intelligence"
“Rappers spit rhymes that are mostly illegal, MCs spit rhymes to uplift they people.”
clipse would fall into that category
Sorry, BDP don't get to choose. Especially since KRS contradicts himself.
[Chorus]
Rap is something you do!
3x Hip-Hop is something you live! [scratched]
Rap is something you do!
Hip-Hop is something you live! [scratched]
if you noticed, that was OLD krs-one
I got a crown made of powder, everybody knows who's the king of the coke flow be/

Nice. A different side:
I'm Sorry Grandmamma, For Mistakes I Have Made
When I Aired Family Business, How U Put Me In My Place
Even My Baby Mamma, I Can't Look You In The Face
Cuz I Can't Do Enough, You're A Symbol Of God's Grace
So I Place U In The Flower Bed, Porcelian Shower Head
Throughout The House, And Keep The Youngin's Mouth Fed
So When I'm Gone, I Hope I Gave Structure To The Youth
By The Example That I Led
Listen to Momma I'm So Sorry off Hell Hath No Fury. If you can't appreciate the writing and delivery skills then please let me see you do something better. Or even half as creative and lyrical. Clipse hit their marks when I saw them, the show DID NOT succumb to the pitfalls of many hip-hop shows in a live setting. And yes I say hip-hop because they had a DJ (who was just ok) and spit rhymes and even a free style during the show. Good times.

In my "Home Sweet Home" I keep chrome next to my bones
Alters my walk to limpin'
Since I love the feel, I guess I'm passionately pimpin'
It 'tis what it seems
That thing imprintin' through the seams of my jeans, by all means
Lost it all, from lives to love
Put my faith in my money, help me rise above
See I turned to the Lord when them times got tough
Bullied through streets, powder I pushed and shoved
In that ole' Virginey
Out of ten niggas, nine are guinea
No money, all they know is gimme, got semis waitin'
Heat like Caribbean summers, I been there
Each year, a diffferent bitch wonder
Who wing she gon' fall under, Push' or Mal'
Ganga grinds, wit' me, with thoughts of fuckin' them cross her mind
Look ma, that's right up my alley
I love my family, I want them all happy
In Virginia, we smirked at that Simpson trial
Yeah, I guess the chase was wild
But what's the fuss about?
See, plenty my partners feelin' like O.J.
Beat murder like the shit is OK, that's what our door say
Talk the evil that men do, I'm lost in the mental
I miss you Shampoo, we miss you Shampoo
And your grams, too...
its hard to come across lyrics better than this, and so many of his other lyrics

i seriously thank you for not being an ass.
THANK YOU!
yes, i have read some of clipse's lyrics and yes theyre talented (on some songs)
but i think thats what i love about slugs lyrics the most, about 99% of his songs are great and if you ask me, are brilliant.

overall:
PUTS got the job done, and did it well
Atmosphere: 6th time ive seen them, and was a pretty weak set, except for the extended version of guarantees, which fucken blew me away
P.O.S. did way better than expected
Public Enemy: heard they had a good show, but i didnt catch it
peanut butter wolf, havent heard anything
clipse: see, i was going to be nice and i was actually there for their set to give them a chance, but they cancelled
k'nann, was pretty good, but not mind blowing as expected
The crowd chanting "turn it up" at Lupe was pretty funny, but when those speakers kicked in it was fuckin hot. That bass came in quick and the crowd just started groovin.
And then when he started I Gotcha he had me jumping up and down for the first time all weekend.
People Under the Stairs...
Awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww SHIT!!!
The Replacements, The Modern Lovers, Neutral Milk Hotel for 2010!!!!
The Beat Is Murder!
People Under the Stairs dissing Lupe was funny.
Themselves were awesome!!!!
Small crowd but were the best hip hop set there!!
I think as I was walking to the mojave to catch pos' set I overheard THEMSELVES, and their beats sounded really fucken good.jazzy
