I never realized until randomly hearing it just now how much of an homage to Serge Gainsbourg's Histoire de Melody Nelson "Paper Tiger" is. Fantastic. It was like hearing the song for the first time again.

I'm convinced that they sampled the strings, but maybe not.

Yes. I've seen him 3 times, the last time was at the ACL Fest in '08 and it was OK, but I was expecting something wild and great and it was just - kind of underwhelming.

Hope he announces some more tour dates for this year.
We're here to play some Mississippi Delta Blues. We're in a horrible depression, and I gotta admit - we're starting to like it.

New song from the Jason Segel movie Jeff Who Lives at Home, and it does not disappoint.

Beck raps (very well, unsurprisingly) and co-produces:

Beck at Sasquatch was so much fun. "Mutherfucker" was just surreal with Jack Black rolling around the stage and I think "The Golden Age" was just about the prettiest thing of the whole festival.

And that CG song is pretty damn awesome until Glover starts rapping..

You could make a pretty solid compilation going through his catalog and picking out the songs with that hip hop side of this. I may do this.

Beck should make an album, period. Any rumors of this? New songs are popping up on soundtracks, etc, but he's not playing anything new at his live shows, right? It's been too long.

Ranking Beck albums is even more pointless than usual since they rise or fall depending on what you're in the mood for. Although Odelay is always at the top. Always.

You're way more into Guero than a lot of us too. I guess it's just whichever of the two you connected with first. Although Odelay is clearly superior in every way.

I did this while inebriated last night and it took nearly an hour. They do rise and fall some depending on mood, sure, but I'm pretty certain that, looking at it the morning after, my final answer (with all things considered) is posted above.
