Default Let's talk about Beck, man

His tour is over and "Modern Guilt" has been out for a while now. Let's just be fanboys....

    I'll start

Due out April 14th, the re-issue of Beck’s 1994 folk record, One Foot in the Grave, will finally see the light of day again thanks to Interscope. This should be a treat to any fan, considering the album, originally put out through K Records, has been out of print for quite some time. But, what would a re-issue be these days without some goodies to go along with it, and for that Beck’s the man.

“Well, it’s been out of print for a few years, so it’s something we’ve been planning, but I knew that we had these extra tracks. I’ve actually been working on this for the past two or three years,” Beck stated in an interview with the Daily Yomiuri. “[On] the original tapes there were an extra maybe 30 songs that weren’t on the record and I picked the best… and added them on there, so it’s got about a little over a dozen extra tracks that no one’s heard before.”

    Awesome!

One Foot in the Grave [Reissue] Tracklist:

Jesus sbessy, you just can't help yourself can you? Either way, I'm surprised he isn't playing Coachella this year, seemed like a good fit. Oh well.

I think I would pay a very large sum of money for Beck to perform Debra with the disco ball and giving 100% like he did on the MV tour.

He was a whole different person on that tour. So fucking animated and he would kill it with that song. Absolutely a show stopping performance. He never plays it anymore though only teases it in medlies and such from what I have seen.

    YES HE DOES.

But only when he's playing requests from the audience for his encore and the audience requests Sexx Laws and then to top it off his guitar player convinces him to close the show with Debra and he kills it and all 200 people at the show are stoked. And then I went to see Cut Copy.

he played solo, acoustic Debra during his Bonnaroo set. The acoustic section where the rest of the band sat at the dinner table on stage and ate was Lost Cause > Do You Realize?? > Creep > Debra > The Golden Age. my favorite segment of any beck show I have seen.

Beck needs to come back to SF. I was in San Diego seeing Radiohead when tickets went on sale last August for the Independent show, making that the second time I've missed Beck because of Radiohead.

I kinda disagree. I prefer the full blown performance of Debra oppposed to that accoustic medley. I'm also one of the few who found the stomp routine at the table to be ridiculous lol. I liked old school spontanious Beck much better than rehearsed over produced Beck.

A bunch of those "never heard" songs have been around awhile as bootlegs, etc. Some of them are pretty good, if somewhat inconsequential.

And I still have never seen Beck in any form in the 10 years I've been listening to the man, and that sucks.

yeah, I understand what you're saying, as a whole I would say that was probably the second WORST Beck show I have seen. I just loved that stretch because it was a flaming lips cover, a radiohead cover, and debra book ended by my two favorite beck songs. fwiw, I love the acoustic Debra, on the bootleg you can hear the crowd laughing over his singing at times...haha
