MANOLO!! What's up dude? Yeah looks like we are car camping again... I got a car spot already and got a message from a couple other people who want to join up that all have passes. so anyone who doesn't have one we should be able to do what we did last year since I didn't have one last year

welcome! I used to live in Irvine, nice to see another OCer.

so like I've never been stuck in this situation where I couldn't get a camping pass, but I know there's supposed to be like some tag-along feature for campers since you purchase by space and not by number of people. Would I still be able to camp with you guys in that case? I have plan b's, but would rather re-join my beloved crew.

In theory, the car camping spaces allow space for as many people as fit - that is to say, you don't have to have a car camping pass to camp, just to bring your car in.

I've got a small tent. I'm happy to share my space with you.

That said, what are you gonna do about your car? Can you carpool into the site with someone?

If I carpool then one person at least needs a car camping pass right? In that case, none of my friends were able to get a car camping pass. And I'm assuming you would need a camping pass in order to do the whole park outside and lug your shit inside deal. Which means yeah, I would need to I guess meet someone in our group outside who already has a car camping pass, then go in with them.

At least I think that's what I have to do if I'm understanding this correctly.

Right. Some driver would need to park.

Easiest is if you can meet up with someone in the group and ride in with them.

Also, if companion car passes are still available, maybe it's worth (as a group) getting a couple for people in your situation.

    We're driving from friggin' SEATTLE.

Arriving Thursday night HOPEFULLY. Hard to say considering the drive...

Contribute? $$ and laid back attitudes? We can hug also? Haha

We WANT to RV it. Considering drive. But campsite nearby is booked... So unless something there opens/appears we could really use some friends
Also, OBVIOUSLY our first time going... Heh... :/

yeah i guess we'll arrange meeting outside with someone then.

So no Ed this year? That's a huge blow, he was like the ringleader. So many stories and energy that guy. First Ben dropped out and now Ed. Guess that means we just have to bring way more alcohol then

Hey all! Damn I need to check the thread more haha

Since no Ed I'll be taking the lead... PM me your names, numbers, how many of you there are and if you have a camping pass or car companion pass

Looking to meet all early Thursday afternoon at the Ralphs on Monroe I think it is then we can all drive in together to make it easier.

Jake: Last year I didn't have a camping pass but rode in with Manolo and Ed and we had plenty of space! just not sure where you would leave your car...

So far I think we have about 14 people and 9 car camping passes and one companion pass which is cool since that might work out

Me, Hazele & JJ will be there again this year plus a few more from Vegas this time. IDK how the logistics will be this year, it's always a pain since we have to make a pit stop in Long Beach to drop off our kids, but we will for sure meet up for more drinks in the campsite. Been arriving to the campsite between 11pm and 2am the past couple years. I think I have the wife almost convinced on a noon'ish arrival. she has a problem with our kids missing school...

FYI ANYONE LOOKING TO BECOME A NEW MEMBER:

Right now not sure how many more people we can take that DO NOT have a car camping pass or companion pass... we just don't want to be too squished.

Still PM me info and will get back to you as soon as I know how many car camping passes or car companion passes we will have. Hopefully will have most of the count put together before middle of February so if you need you can make other arrangements current list of the group and passes will follow!

Just a note: if those w/ companion passes haven't purchased camping passes - the companion passes will probably deleted/refunded/kicked backed into the system.

This seems like a pretty fun group!

I'll be coming from Iowa for my 2nd Coachella. I already have a car camping pass - I bought it the second they came out on Friday. I RV'd with some friends last year, but will be camping all alone this year and would love to meet some new people!
