Thread: The Official Procrastinator's Camping Group Thread

Looks like I'll be carpooling with Joy again, hopefully we can be on time this year. I have two canopies, an 8 gallon water jug, and a small jetboil. I feel kind of bad, with all the people begging for a spot to camp. Perhaps we could have a contest for a spot for a sleeping bag between our cars, involving peanut butter, cheese whiz and a giant penis costume.

I'm somewhat coming away with the impression that I should be getting a car camping pass and offering it to a pass-less person who wants to join.

    Hey yalls!
So, my friend with a camping pass decided to sell it for lots of money (grr) and so myself and 3 friends are slightly homeless. Eek.
If anyone has a camping spot that they're willing to part ways with orrrr have space for 4 chicks and 1 swell guy, I'm all ears

Ur friend is mean! We might have space, trying to get a final count on exactly how many total car camping spots our crew has.

If anyone has extra space at their campground for two young lovers (my boyfriend and I) Its his first coachella and I really wanted him to camp for his first time and get the full experience! We can bring a lot to the table we have lots of camping supplies and would be willing to pitch in whatever else was needed! Were coming from vegas so were even willing to drive if that easier for whoever has the past! If you can't tell im a little desperate so pleasee out of the goodness of your heart someone hit me up! Or else we may be forced to get a hotel room

Edit were going weekend two sorry

We would also like to team up with this fun group. Driving from LAX around 11am Thursday the 10th. We have 1-2 spots in the car and room in our campsite. Can meet at LAX or in Palm Springs. Do you have a camping pass to share with us in exchange? Let us know, and happy Coachella!!

Anyone who already has a car camping pass is welcome to join! Unfortunately we just don't have the room to host campers without car camping passes.

dontpanic, do you already have a car camping pass?

    Hi everyone,

I am from West LA, looking to buy/share a camping spot for weekend 1. How big is the car camping, or tent camping spot? How many people could fit in in either car or tent spot? I'd split all the costs for this spot. I could only give 1 person a ride there as I have a 2 seater but plenty of frunk and back space. I prefer someone from WLA or LA area.

The alternative is if someone looking for a hotel nearby, like a 2-bed room. I am open for suggestions. Please PM. Thanks.

I can still see snow outside my living room window, so at this point, I'm gonna say no. But once I've been in the campground for a few hours (working on my sunburn), I may change my mind!

I know! We just got rain yesterday, but some friends in western MA said they got 8" of snow. Are you kidding me? I can't wait for next week...

I'd like to trade Muse for Arctic Monkeys, please. But not if they came with a side of Elton John or Kings of Leon.

No one's planning anything for Weekend 2... The group was created in 2009 prior to the whole two-weekend thing, so when they introduced two weekends the core group decided to stick to the first weekend. There's been attempts in the past to form a Weekend 2 group, but AFAIK they never really got much traction.

I was underwhelmed with Muse in 2010; not that they were bad, there were just better options.

Good stuff! Gear wise, we're pretty typical, though our canopy is of the crappy slanty legged variety - our old EZ-Up didn't survive the 2012 storm. I've been tinkering with a Mist setup for this year, but we'll see how effective it'll be.

In 2011, ibuprofane's canopy didn't survive the storm. I was moving to NYC (from CA) and so was happy to give him mine.

In 2013, ibuprofane's canopy (that had been mine) didn't survive the storm.
