it's totally worth it. just be sure you have a designated meeting spot for the end of the night. and by that i mean both of you actually walk up to something and place your hand on it and say "let's meet as close to this spot as humanly possible". cause you'll find everyone will pick the same meeting spot as you.

and by all means, DO ditch your friends! I had periods as long as 6 hours last year where i was running around like a lunatic by myself and I am so happy I did it

Any true friend would recognize the need for some seperation. Do you ditch them for the whole day? No. But, some of my favorite Coachella moments have been shared with a few thousand strangers instead of my close friends. Take a chance, wander around alone for a while.

I'd figure it's almost impossible to have the same taste in music for the entire day.

I have some guilty pleasures (girl talk being one of them...INORITE! What a lame!) So I'll probably have to steal away and lose my sanity with anyone else who happens to be in my general vicinity

Oh and I know for a fact my friends won't mind in the slightest. I also assume that they'll be venturing off to see something I don't care for, so I'll just go exploring. It'll be awesome!

It's not really ditching. People have different tastes in music and respond accordingly.

Oh, and cell phones work wonders. There are chargers in the camp grounds.

QFT Since suffacated has always worked during the fest, I would have missed afew sets had I not gone on my own. We picked an exact spot or area to meet in when he was finished. Should be interesting this year since he decided to pass on the "sidework" and join me for the whole fest...

Yes. It doesn't count as "waiting for someone" unless you are actually touching said meeting object.

It's impossible to stick with a group the entire time unless you have friends that just want to place their full trust in your taste in music. eventually the groups split up...I'm lucky to stick with one friend through out the entire day...besides it's fun to break off and then go with a different person for a bit then trade off. by days end everyone has a different story to talk about.

I HIGHLY doubt ghostland will play during the day at coachella.

I think Paul T. knows better.

Last year I spent the whole weekend with my sister and our friend Troy, it was our first time and my sister has been for several years running. My sister was the leader and picked all the bands and we just followed which worked out fine. This year I plan on being a bit more adventurous though.

I always end up wandering around alone at Coachella.

I fully expect you guys/gals to keep me company sometime during the weekend.
