I gave up on Manson when Holywood came out as well.

I actually started listening to Manson post-glory days, and when I read people's opinions about his catalog as a whole so many people said things along the lines of "yeah, his earlier stuff had all the radio hits, but Holy Wood really is his masterpiece". And so I listened to that and wanted to like it, but overall it's waaaaaaaaay too long and very bland at parts.

So yeah. Everything before Mechanical Animals >>>> Everything after MA

And fuck "Eat Me, Drink Me". It was like he sobered up and attempted to write alternative rock songs, dropping the quasi-industrial sound completely. 3 Doors Down generic guitar riffs with Manson's voice is not a good combination.

I'm glad I stopped when I did. I didn't really dig the stuff I heard on his website when Holywood came out or the single "disposable teens". The Mechanical Animals stage show was great but maybe a bit over produced.

I wonder if I care enough to see him when he tours. I haven't listened to the new song yet either.
