So who all is up for a turkey-leg toss during his set?

    How about lunch-meat frisbees?

I think I may make up a T-shirt that has his "Meat is Murder" cover on it, only cross out "murder" and write in "tasty."

I always liked "wheat is murder." Contrarian, ironic, ultimately TRUE.

    Then there's AIDZ is murder...

Allow me to quote Immortal Technique:
Look, let me make something abundantly clear for people, who are so bereft of activities they feel like they gotta comment on mine.

first of all being a vegetarian should never be associated with being a revolutionary or being open-minded., that's a dietary choice.

if someone wants to proliferate the type of ignorance we're supposed to be fighting by thinking that, you're just fucking yourself.

i don't go around promoting beef and broccoli shoving it in people's faces. i don't castigate people for not eating steak sandwiches; and i would never diss someone for being a fucking broccoli-head, or living off of radishes, or eating grass or tofu.

i like a lot of vegan cuisine. but the illogicality of expecting everyone to adopt their particular idea of what being healthy is is just preposterous.

i've seen some of you herbivores; and if you want to argue health, y'all need to eat some kind of supplement because some of y'all are so skinny that it's disgusting; looking like the only hip-hop motherfuckers on schindler's list.

being a malnutrition-ass got nothing to do with being revolutionary or being on-point. i'll be damned if i let somebody else push their agenda on me. you know i don't eat pork, not because i'm a muslim, i just don't really like it, but i really will fuck a bird up. and fish is good when that shit is fresh.

it's like my ***** Vast Aire from Can-Ox: "if you don't like the smell of burning meat, well then get the fuck off the planet." you know i don't criticize people for eating moss, then don't open your fucking mouth about my food, man. i like beef and broccoli motherfucker. mind your god-damn business. matter of fact... you know what? i'm out. i feel like some arroz con pollo, a banana daiquiri, and a motherfucking bistec empanada.
    The end.

I was going to come here and try and defend Morrissey but then I read this and it's just too great. Well done.

That being said, I'm a vegetarian. But not for moral purposes, simply economic and environmental reasons.

And I give props to Vegetarians...in fact, I wish I had the willpower to do it myself...but I'm a carniwhore. I just don't like the fact that someone like Morrisey used his power to FORCE everyone in that venue to be vegetarian for the night. That's not cool, and it brings out my dickish side. My creative dickish side.

who eats hot dogs(or anything for that matter) during a morrissey show at webster hall? it's sort of a non-issue. i'd understand the uproar if it was alcohol, but come on.

When was 'meat is murder'? 1985 I think.
So he's apparently banned meat in a concert venue? I dont remember McDonalds being on the gig circuit back then. Who eats when they go to a gig anyway? Who ate when they went to a gig in 1985??

Was he not having a pop at war - rather than meat eaters?

Exactly. Should he have been able to say what people were allowed to eat? No. But were people really going to be stuffing quarter pounders down their throats during a concert anyway, especially a Morrissey concert? And it's not like it was cruel and unusualy punishment to make people wait an extra 2-3 hours before going back to clogging their arteries.

It's about Morrissey forcing his beliefs on others.... not "who eats at a concert anyway?"

He didn't force his beliefs on them. He made people abide by his beliefs for a few hours. Big difference.
