I wish we had something like Street Scene or Treasure Island in LA...something to hold us over between Coachellas. Well, there's Sunset Junction and Detour, but I'm thinking something on a larger scale.

Beastie Boys? Eh, does that mean Treasure Island for them, too?

beastie boys being there alone will get my ass there. Beastie Boys rocking downtown San Diego hell yes!!! Was kind of a no brainer though when they announced the hollywood bowl show.

    Fleet Foxes make sense

and any ideas on who the other headliner would be?

Yeah, that's not the point. The point is that time of year, we get several must-see shows on the same night because we don't have a city fest so a lot gets missed.

Haha, yeah. "Too many shows" and conflicts or lack of funds make attending most of them impossible is better than "dinosaurs, juggalo bands, mainstream pap, and cover bands 90% of the time" like where I grew up.

Very true. Last year I made a wise choice in skipping Street Scene, though. Instead, I saw Spiritualized-Beck/Spoon/MGMT-My Morning Jacket in consecutive nights instead and am glad I did.

Street Scene does bring up a bad memory though...my all-time worst concert flub...saw Social Distortion instead of The Doors of the 21st Century back in '03. Yeah, Jim Morrison wasn't there of course, but seeing the other 3 members perform with the tool from The Cult on vocals is better and more legendary than Social D.

But yeah, I'm hoping for a more indie-like lineup for Street Scene like they did last year. As opposed to the year before that had The Killers, Arctic Monkeys, Panic at the Disco, T.I., etc. as the main acts.
    4/27 - Ghost BC - Fonda (?)

    4/30 - Mono - Troubadour (?)
    5/03 - Philip Glass - Royce Hall
    5/06 - Rodrigo y Gabriela - Orpheum (?)

    +1

I've been fortunate enough to be able to scratch several bands off the "bands to see live before I die" list over the past few years, but Wilco and the Flaming Lips are in the Top 5 still remaining.

Haha, yeah. But watch it be Beastie Boys and Tool.

I would rather attend Treasure Island, but Street Scene is closer. The other unfortunate thing about Treasure Island, besides what it would cost to attend, is the lack of conflicts means not having alternatives an act you don't want to see. But that venue, that's nice.

Unless they've changed it up, yeah 2 days. For around $75/day if I recall correctly.

Flaming lips would be great. They would totally be a good fit for treasure island, too.

I want to hit 3 fests this year if I can.

Wilco hasn't played in my state in 4 years. Wilco plays the left coast yearly. I know they played California at least once last year and in Oregon as well.

I missed last year for ATP. This year both are possible timing wise. We'll see, but I had fun at the one Street Scene I went to (The one with the White Stripes and Pixies)

Yeah it came out in June, I remember I read it when I came home from Bonnaroo...

In 2007 it came out in early May though.
