I think 8.1's pretty low. But I'm stoked good reviews are coming in for it anyway.

I'm still not really onboard with Sisterworld. It definitely has some fantastic moments, but it also has a lot of misses for me.

Also, when are they going to review Plastic Beach? I am really curious what they are going to give to that.

That's a really good guess, I'd be surprised if it was more than .5 higher or lower.
    10/01 - King Crimson - Orpheum
    10/10 - Thurston Moore/Sebadoh - Echoplex (?)
    10/11 - BADBADNOTGOOD - Echoplex (?)
    10/12 - IAMX - Complex
10/13 - Oren Ambarchi - Jewels Catch One

Considering they gave the new Hot Chip an 8.4... I'm going to go with an 8.2.

I held this belief also... but, today I listened to it for the second time and the first time with a none watermarked version. I couldn't pick out any songs that were especially weak this time. I didn't like "The Overachievers" the first time I heard it, but it might be my favorite now.

I've given it a few more listens since my last impressions yesterday and I'm coming 'round. I like it more than the self-titled.

Considering Demon Days got a 6.9, I'm going to be very shocked if Plastic Beach gets BNM'd. I'm gonna say 7.1

Yeah, I think Sisterworld is going to eventually win me over. It was much better on second listen. Scarecrows on a Killer Slant stuck out to me.

    The part where he sings:
    We drove a bio-car
cuz we all love the earth
    It didn't get us far
    and always sounded like koalas

    stuck out to me.

But, in all serious... Scarecrows on a Killer Slant is fucking colossal.

Yeah, that was the song that I first heard at Coachella that I was sold on.

I think Plastic Beach fits in with pitchfork's style alot better. Aesthetically PB seems closer to the typical darlings you see popping up yearly on their top lists.

It doesn't really seem any better than the other Gorillaz records to me. Well not considerably at least.

I still can't decide if I like DD or PB better. They're just about even in my book.
I am neither foxy, nor a lady.

Neil Young - Kanye West - Beck - PJ Harvey - The Knife - Basement Jaxx - Tom Waits - Shpongle (Live) - Flying Lotus (Live) - The Avalanches - Autechre - Eels - Fat Freddy's Drop - Liquid Liquid - OFWGKTA - Freddie Gibbs - Big K.R.I.T. - Phantogram - Christian Scott - Nosaj Thing - Gold Panda - James Blake

Neither one really matter. But Demon Days has Feels Good Inc. on it so I choose that one. There are some parts in the middle of Plastic Beach where I like what Albarn is doing, though.
