As many as you're passionate about I'd say. When you start to just feel whatever toward them, cut it off.
    4/27 - Ghost BC - Fonda (?)
    4/29 - Franz Ferdinand - Wiltern (?)
    4/30 - Mono - Troubadour (?)
    5/03 - Philip Glass - Royce Hall

I went to 100, which was their max cut off. They said a minimum of 20, max of 100. The limit made me reconsider some albums.

And I did put three Radiohead albums on my list. Just not at 1, 2 and 6.

I'll do 100 or so and probably have 4 or 5 each from Radiohead, Wilco, and Beck. deal with it.

Not because of Me, I voted and had The Woods #2 for the whole era behind OK Computer...my number one album for the whole 2000s.

But this list, like any, shows how public polls always skew towards favorite bands as much as favorite albums...ie all the radiohead/Arcade Fire/Animal Collectives albums up top, and then other artists start to make their way in as one moves down the list.

Remember seeing Britanny Spears Ballot for Rolling Stones last best 500 album's poll...had something like 7 Beatles album's on it. My guess is this poll saw a lot of similar votes cast.

Obviously still love a lot of the titles on the list...in addition to Sleater-Kinney being shut out, would have loved to see Okkervil River's Black Sheep Boy make the list...an excellent, excellent album that has held up quite well. Forget if Mountain Goats Sunset Tree made it, everytime I hear that thing, I move it up 10 spots in my personal best of decade list...talk about an emotionally impactful album.

ok so i did this really quickly and probably fucked it up. Yeah, Cookie Mtn, I don't know why.

And yeah, I know it's weighted to earlier years. I don't know if this is because those albums have had time to grow, develop their own aura and mythology in my mind, while the more recent stuff just seems like albums that I like? dunno.

I prefer Dear Science more overall as an album, but RTCM has better songs. But to be fair, I've listened to DS much much more and am far more familiar with it than the latter.

I don't think so. I believe Dear Science was my introduction to the band.

"Province" is my favorite song of theirs overall though.

That tends to happen, regardless of the quality of an album it seems many (myself included) tend to favor their introductory album to a group.

Dear Science is the one album of theirs I really like as a whole. I probably only like 3-4 other songs scattered throughout the rest of their discography.

    Proper order is:

    Young Liars
    Cookie Mountain
    Dear Science

And I just realized I haven't listened to Bloodthirsty Youth more than like 2 or 3 times, so I'm not sure whether that or Nine Types Of Light comes next.

I liked this album because they made it good by putting catchy songs on it, but some times there were songs that were not very good because the singer didn't try to make them better. The guitar tone was very strong, and I liked the production. Some of the songs made me want to dance like a funky spider. They are arty and poppy, but not too much of either, or both, or at all, but it's ok because they are talented at making songs that use instruments for sounds. Overall, I'd say it's a jazzy fun record but with too much grease in its hair.

    My rating: 3.14*2.

I rank TV In The Radio from favorite to least favorite in chronological order of release (full lengths). Desperate Youth, Blood Thirsty Babes is so fucking amazing, and to me still the one i put on more than anything. i still remember the day I bought it - i was at Aaron's Records and the first thing i would always do there is go to their staff recommendations wall. Someone had written out a review in pen on a full 8 1/2" x 11" sheet of paper and I was convinced. I stuck it on in the car on the way out and was instantly in love from the very beginning of "The Wrong Way."

They don't have a bad album though.
