Just flew into LA today from VA for FYF. Saw Tyler, the Creator on Fairfax Ave OMG![]()
I'm back. Had fun and will definitely go back to Germany, although I think I saw what there needed to be seen of Hamburg. I got the flu my first fucking day there, so I didn't get to do the nighttime stuff I wanted to do. Tevs. iPHone pics soon.
Noted. Hamburg here I come.
I added it to my list too.![]()
Hey now, there's a LOT more to that part of LA than that.
Flying to New York tomorrow!! I packed way too much stuff, but whatever.
Arrived in Hamburg around 4:00pm on a Saturday afternoon after traveling for about 18 hours. After resting and unpacking and washing the stench off of me. Was exhausted so I didn’t do much but grab a bite and a couple of beers, but a guy on our trip took some pictures of the city:
The American consulate right around the corner from our hotel
View of town square
Downtown
Train station
The next morning, we set off for Lubeck and Travemunde. Lubeck is an old Hansiatic city and Travemunde is a beachside town on the Baltic sea. Before we left town, we stopped off to check out the “Fischmarket”…basically a huge Sunday morning farmer’s market, but with an added bonus—an old warehouse (Biergarten) that a band plays in and everyone ends there Saturday night in there. They hit up the Reeperbahn, get loaded, and then head to the Fischmarket Sunday morning for food, and then more booze and dancing.
The fortress, built in the 1400’s, was meant to guard the city of Lubeck. If it looks skewed, it’s because it is. It’s slowly sinking into the mud.
Medieval buildings inside the town:
Puppet theater scared the shit out of me
Old door
3D model of the city for the blind
Medieval town square. Looked like the Renaissance fair.
Went into a cool old church there. Won’t bore you with pics, but there was a part of the church that was pretty cool. It had been bombed during World War II; they rebuilt the church, but left the bell (which had been obliterated during the bombing) as it was after the bombing—in a twisted wreck on the floor.
Not much to see in Travemunde as it looks like pretty much any other beach town you’ve ever been in.
The next day we went to the airbus factory for a tour and lunch. We were forbidden to bring in any phones or cameras, but James got a pic of one of their Beluga Whale aircraft unloading a piece of fuselage.
I got off the tour at this point since I had the flu and slept for about 15 hours. The next day was our free day, but I just wandered around downtown and went back to the hotel for a nap before dinner. Nothing exciting.
Those are some great pics! looks like a cool city.
lol, yes!! I was just there in March.
New York is only the first leg of my trip. After spending 5 days in NY I'll be in Philadelphia for another 3 weeks so most of the packing is for that part of the trip. I only brought 1 checked bag and 1 carry on so it's not that difficult to manage. I usually take the airport shuttle from the airport to the hotel anyways, but I could manage the subway if I needed to since the 2 bags stack together.
When are you going to be in Portland? There are some good shows coming up. I can probably direct you to a few things.

this might be interesting
I'll be there in a week or two. Kind of just waiting and hoping for a free couch to materialize for me there. I'll be coming up the 101 so I don't know if I wanna exchange a gorgeous drive along the coast at times for a mystery circle. I really don't know what the 5 looks like in Oregon though, the freeway is pretty bland from what I've seen.
A couple of pics from Thailand

Sorry about the multiple posts, I am a technotard
Wanting to travel to Barcelona in mid december. the prices for flights have been hovering around 1000. anyone think they'll drop from here on out?
yea back in the city (SF) from oct 19-22. I haven't been there in a few years. I am excited.......cr****
Anyone have any tips on how to search for all flights between one city and another? I’m not talking about searching multiple travel sites for best deals (kayak), but rather searching for all carriers (major and discount) who serve between one city and another.
Yes, DC (any of the 3) to LAS. I'm surprised on how few direct flights I can find.
