    Kings of Leon, Beastie Boys, Dave Matthews Band and Pearl Jam are the big names coming from an Austin360 source apparently...

    The husband just informed me that if the Beastie Boys play, we're there. It's only a 3 hour drive for us. We weren't planning on going (since ATP NY is right before), but for the Beastie Boys...well, Andy is obsessed.

    yessir. I liked their Coachella 07 performance more...but they were still solid at APW. They even seemed a little nervous at APW.

    I have the first two KoL records on my ipod. I'll admit it. I don't seek them out, but I'll listen to "Red Morning Light" if it comes up on shuffle.

    I can't lie, there are a couple of KOL songs I used to like.

    But they're so ridiculously overplayed and overrated, and their music is so furiously beloved of douchebags everywhere, that I came to despise them.

    The sound of Kings of Leon is, to me, the sound of a bad fucking sports bar filled with arrogant privileged rugby kids who's idea of slumming it is to drink pints rather than bottles. I hate that guy's voice, I hate how seriously they take themselves, and I hate the people that listen to them and the places where they do it. They are a solid pub band who got elevated to an absurdly undeserved degree.
