is the train from LA the best option
is the train from LA the best option
There are a few aussies here trying to arrange a carpool on the thursday if you're interested.
Hiiiii I'm Aussie, flying solo and kinda badly/unofficially trying to organize the renting of a van or 2 from LA on Thursday to Coachella. Let me know if you wanna be in on it.
What part of Aus are you coming from??
A couple of mates and I are taking advantage of the cheap flights and coming from little A-Town - we were thinking of catching the Greyhound to Indio - is the train a better idea?
there is no train from Los Angeles to Indio, CA.... You can get to Palm Springs and then take a bus....
R.I.P Coachella Express
02, 03, 04, 05, 07, 08, 09, 10, 11, 12.2
I'm coming from Melbourne to California for Coachella specifically and will be going solo. I'm staying on Venice beach for a few days before the festival and want to head in on the Thursday. Would be keen to get in on a carpool if there is space.
How much is the train?
im going to pack a magic carpet into my travel case, anyone want to glide with me!
If any Aussies going solo hit me up I am to (i'm coming from Vegas though) lets meet up the first day and kick it (doesn't have to be the whole time) would be cool to have some company
....some of us here, too
Im from Sydney. Im catching the Greyhound out from San Diego and back to LA solo meeting mates along the way. Im thinking of getting a t-shirt printed asking for a "lift to LA on the monday" coz I hate the Greyhound. Be warned my fellow Aussies, Greyhound is USA is a sketchy experience, unlike our Greyhounds. When i've had to take it in the past my friend and I preferred to call it the ghetto express. It made for great stories now, but at the time it was frickin scary. However I expect the buses to Coachella and return will be full of fellow Coachella cruisaders!! I would hire a car but I am sooo retarded when it comes to driving on the other side of the road!
Its gonna be good, just hope my dam tickets arrive here before I leave!!
from sydney also, got the greyhound down from LA last year and 90% of the people on it were going to Coachella, totes fine
I'm from Sydney as well.
I'm going with a group of 5 mates. We are hiring a Dodge Caravan van and driving from San Fran to LA and then to Coachella.
Don;t have any spare spots unfortunately but really looking forward to it!
be sure to take highway 1 from SF to LA if you have the time
I am Greyhounding on the Thursday, in fact I am taking lots of Greyhound buses in the US, is it really that bad?
Friday: Titus Andronicus
the Black Keys - OFWGKTA
Brandon Flowers - Sleigh Bells - Cut Copy
Crystal Castles - Cold War Kids - Glasser
Saturday: Arcade Fire
Foals - Freelance Whales
Animal Collective - Cage the Elephant - Wire
Two Door Cinema Club - the Kills - Elbow
Sunday: Kanye West
the National - Death from Above 1979
Phantogram - the Strokes - HEALTH
Menomena - Ratatat - Twin Shadow
The problem with the greyhound in the past is having a booked time doesn't really count for much if it's a busy day. It didn't hit me when I went last as I left on the sunday but it bit my friends who were leaving on the monday - 9am schedule departure was 8pm that night as that was where they were placed in the queue when they arrived.
Isn't the Greyhound known as the prison express?
Ale, Ale, AleAleAle,
He's Sydney's number 10
Where the sky's blue SYDNEY!
What day are you leaving from Vegas. We are heading down on the 15th in the AM...
I'm an aussie!! I'm driving down from Reno, where I've been doing uni for the past year, staying in Cali wednesday night and getting into coachella on the thursday arvo. If anyone is keen to hang out on the Thursday, have a few drinks and explore post a reply!
p.s 12 DAYS!!
Who is Arcadia Fires anyway?
I came here to drink milk and kick ass.
And I've just finished my milk.
many thanks to my loves in australia for sending me a coachella care package with TIM TAMS today. nom nom nom
Your best bet is the carpool area....
The people there are awesome.....I read about so many people that went way out of their way to pick people up.
It's a good group
There are more Aussie's at Coachella than any other country outside the USA.
Last....either camp at Coachella or buy a hotel close by...NOT PALM SPRINGS...way too far.
