Yeah, with a replacement.
Yeah, with a replacement.
So what do you call the person then.
No one could ever replace Carlos D. He did more than just play bass. Including all the ladies.
On that note, thanks for everything Dave. It's because of you I finally got to hear The New live.

Iono, might have not meant anything but I pleaded to Pajo on facebook after the Fox Theater show for them to play NYC, The New, The Lighthouse and Safe Without when they came back to The Warfield and they played all 4 of them. That is one of the handful of times they have ever played Safe Without also.
Whether or not my pleading made a difference, I feel like Pajo had a significant role in bringing The New back to the stage and that alone earns mad respect from me.

I agree Safe Without is great! I have a feeling Interpol will continue touring throughout the year though so you should have a few more chances to see it pop up. I am hoping they change up their setlist significantly again after the winter leg of the tour.
Paul could not do the chorus of Safe Without though, he would start saying Safe Wiii...and trail off and allow the keyboard player to finish it. Didn't bother me though as I was singing hella loud along to it anyways :-)
I'd love to see some more second half songs from the new album and some more OLTA on the next run, especially All Fired Up. I still haven't seen Memory Serves so I am thinking it is the most likely new song for me to hear at Coachella this year since they play it fairly often.

Yeah I've seen Memory Serves at nearly every show this tour now. Awesome song, but I was really looking forward to them subbing Safe Without for it at UCSB, was not so lucky.
However, they played 4 songs off OLTA, which I'm not certain but am almost sure that's the maximum amount of songs they've played off it at any show. For me that was a delight. I'm hoping for some interesting changes at their Coachella performance alongside this new visual installation the CreationProject is introducing.

I posted this in the Creator's Project thread, but it may be worth sharing here too: David Lynch's animation from Interpol's Coachella performance and backstory from the band are here.
