Everyone wears sandals to Coachella?

It sounds like most people wear flip flops/sandals to the festival, right?

My only concern is, what happens if someone steps on the side of your flip flop and busts it? Then you're fucked.

And what about the rowdier crowds at some of the shows? Isn't it better to have decent shoes somewhere like that?

yeah, i'd advise wearing shoes. you don't want to risk getting semen on your bare feet when you're using the porta potties.

I wear closed toe slip-on's because things tend to get wild in the Sahara, and dancing in flip flops is difficult. At other stages I go barefoot.

I usually take my converse but end up without them pretty quickly. I put them back on when the sun goes down though. the only time I put them back on during the day is when i just have to get very near the stage and that is usually in the Mojave tent. Wore sandals in 2006 and ended up with nasty blisters.

Shit, one 12 hour day killed my feet last year. Lesson: Sandals provide little to no arch support. Wear at your own risk.

The lockers are great at Coachella -- I usually put my shoes and socks in the lockers and wear sandals during the day...shoes go on after sundown so I don't step on anything nasty.

I have alot of problems with my feet and so my sister decided to give me these weird hiking type tennis shoes that tie on but have openings for air to get through for the heat. I wore them the first day and had blisters by the end of the day and was miserable. After that I went with flip flops for the next two days. I wear rocket dog flip flops though so they have a bit more support. I didn't have any problems with that, and we were dancing the whole time. But then again I wear flip flops all the time when I am not in work boots.

Life is just random like that. Sometimes you feel like a nut, sometimes you don't.

Rent a locker, they're not that expensive. Keep your shoes in ther till the sun sets.

I agree with this. I also wear sandals, but with at least a little bit of support. But this is no different than the rest of my life -- I wear sandals on most days.

I've gone the last two years and I wore sandals one of the six days... Saturday of 07. It was really nice walking around the polo fields all day barefoot beforehand. Then by the time the sun began to set I put my sandals back on... but I quickly regretted it, as I was deep in the crowd for Arcade Fire. My feet were stepped on quite a bit.

So I would not reccomend wearing sandals unless you'll just be standing in the back for all the bands you see. If you plan on going up into the front of the corwd, sandals are going to be a bit painful to wear.

I'm always amazed at how considerate coachella crowds are, with notable exceptions (rage and bjork come to mind, and apparently MIA though I wasn't there)
I go barefoot for the beginning of the day, and then I wear shoes, simply because I look like an ass in sandals

I wear Keen sandals and I have stripes on my feet that will never fade away. Not sure if its sun or Coachella dust.

i've gone with vans or a close cousin the past few years
something with no laces and comfortable to wear without socks.

i put them in my backpocket when walking from area to area, and slip them on once it gets more congested.

the grass is just so plush to not treat the feet to them on a warm music filled day!

I don't wear sandals. Wouldn't touch em. Farkin crap shoe and yes, I mean your crappy Berkenstocks. Them especially. You want something light and comfortable? There are plenty of options. I am ok with sandals on girls but on a guy? You look like a dork.

i recommend bringing baby wipes if your gonna go barefoot. when your feet get dirty just bust out your baby wipes. nice and clean and sparkley feet! theyre also great for wiping your butt after the portapoopers.

Wear Shoes. and wear them tight, i lost one during the Black Lips last year but found it after the show.
