Default Miami independent music lovers read here!

If you've clicked on this thread hopefully you live in the Miami area and like good music.

Honor Roll records is putting on an event at my house this afternoon featuring Airship/Rocketship, Rachel Goodrich, and the wonderful Awesome New Republic (aka ANR). There is free beer and cheap BBQ to go along with the tunes!

The event runs from 3pm-7pm TODAY, hell no one may see this in time but I feel it is worth a shot with all the miami people who post on these boards. More info here on FACEBOOK .

This is an open invitation to come see good free music and enjoy this beautiful day. If you don't have facebook the address is 2143 S. Bayshore Dr. Coconut Grove, FL 33133. Just to be clear this is an invitation for this event ONLY and please be respectful of the property and all others who attend. Come out and support independent music in this town that so desperately needs it. Thank you for reading.

haha dude I was joking. I guess i forgot to put the smilies in.
    I actually love avant garde!
It's quirky and like a big melting pot of rhythmic ideas that don't really go anywhere.

I'm assuming that its NOT avant garde then? The guitarist seems to have a continuous thing going on, but the drummer is kinda all over the place.

ANYWAY, isn't there only like 4 Miami-ans on here? Too bad im not in Orlando anymore

Hey I'm sorry, didn't read the sarcasm and I was quick to defend because it was my brother playing (he is the drummer). Avant garde is a tricky label, I think they would just consider themselves more noise-rock in the vein of Lightning Bolt, Hella, bands like that.

Actually thanks for bringing this to my attention because I meant to post a link to a new video of theirs I have uploaded, so check it out if you get a chance. And yeah I know there's only a few miami people on these boards but I have spoken with some about Rachel Goodrich before so I thought they might be interested. And my apologies again for jumping down your throat, internet sarcasm is very hard to read I find.

haha yeah it kind of was. We're the only ones reading this thread anyway so it was good for a source of amusement.

To any miami people though feel free to come out, we have a stage, 4 kegs and porta potties. This is serious.

Cherita I am sorry you couldn't make it, out of curiosity which starfux do you work at? Hopefully next time you can!

The event was a great success and we will surely be doing similar things again in the future. Honor roll music did a great job putting the show on, to all interested in the Miami independent music scene I suggest you check out their website www.honorrollmusic.com. Any local miami people who would be interested in attending future events feel free to contact me on these boards. We want to bring in people with good musical tastes and I would say Coachella fans are exactly what we're looking for. We hope to do one of these a month, next we are possibly looking into getting Kidz in the Hall to play.

Please help support the independent music scene of Miami! Come out to The Florida Room @ the Delano on South Beach for a taste of something new. It is unlike any place you will find on South Beach, thursdays are the best!

She is awesome! My name is Rob please tell her I said hi! We have had some great times together in the past (@ langerado for instance) but sadly now I don't see her much because we've graduated and are just doing our own thing. She is good fun incarnate though!

And Miaminate..I will keep you posted about possible future events, I am sorry you found out too late. Things went really well so we will definitely do this again. I will try and keep any Miami people interested better updated because this was extremely last minute.
