Anyone catch their performance last night in San Diego?
I was disappointed by the album but some of my buddies said the show was awesome. I think he played at the Casbah.

I was there and was pretty dissapointed. They claimed they were performing 'with guests' and I figured since Kool Keith is playing @ the Casbah on Saturday that at least he'd he'd make an appearance (definitely not holding my breath for Karen O or Tom Waits to walk throught the door). The only 'guests' they had were a painted green girl in a silver bikini and a dude dressed up as a martian. Musically, it was just a typical DJ set. Weak sauce. I'll likely be skippng them.
LOL.
Thanks. Good to know. My friends must have been pretty fucked up.

i am hoping the show for Coachella will be a spectacle.
"It's in the K" - Martha Stewart
Since the show list is very minimal...
August 29 // Chemical Brothers w/ Chromeo & Yacht @ Hollywood Bowl
September 26 // Vampire Weekend w/ Beach House & the Very Best @ Hollywood Bowl
October 5 // ARCADE FIRE @ Henry Miller Library
October 13 // Corin Tucker Band @ The El Rey
(someone should give me Sufjan Stevens tickets, aint got none of those)
I hope he would bring some rappers with him like KRS-1 or method man but I doubt it will happen.

i read somewhere that they needed more than just the two people for their live show so i am hoping that for this they wi8ll do something on a bigger scale than the casbah (or wherever it was)

Well last night all there was was a martian and some dudes walking around in Astronaut costumes apparently. Meh.

I'm seeing them tomorrow night on a bill w/Flosstradamus. I'll get back to you Dale.
Anyone have any feedback on Flosstradamus?
Flosstradamus are pretty cool, it's two guys DJing and they play party music. I wanted to go to that show but I am broke.
Their album is a first class charlie foxtrot. I was expecting better.

see you there geezer. Floss is really fun, they mash tunes up but their intent is to get the crowd the dancing. They get the party mooooving.
I was there last night and thought it sucked big time. I actually left about 45 minutes in.
The sound sucked and I wasn't really feeling the music. The DJ that warmed up the crowd was actually a lot more enjoyable.
The chick dancing and the dragon dude threw me off too. Seemed tacky.
There were some cute girls there that was the only good part about the night.
Will def. be skipping their show at Coachella.
Cool, thanks for the info. If you want to meet up for a drink or a toke, PM me. But, the post below yours doesn't sound too promising though. Good thing Floss and others are on the bill. Plus, shows at the Mezz are always fun for people watching, at the very least, eh.
FWIW....So, went to the show last night. N.A.S.A. was okay. I'm just not a big mash-up fan, I guess. They chose some lame jams to mash, which just didn't do it for me. But, like I said...other than maybe Mike Relm, I'm just not into mashups.
They did have the two aliens on stage with them (lame). At least they offset that stupidness with a couple hot, green-painted go-go dancers. I'm not sure how much better they'll be if they do a live set at Coachella. I will likely check out another band during their slot. Funny, the DJ spinning in between sets was better than N.A.S.A. last night as well.
Flosstradamus was pretty good though.
You'd have to figure if there's anytime to get the guests it would be Coachella. But all I'd need to see is a fully staffed "Gifted" (Kanye, Lykke Li and Santi) and then cash in my chips and move on. Probably not going to happen, but they are really screwed from a touring perspective if they never have any guests...
on the topic of guests think about who else is playing at coachella
this could be epic
perhaps they will bring out M.I.A At one point to perform the song they did together ...if this shits wack im bouncin..
If I can stop by, it will probably only be for the 15mins before Leonard...
