If we're lucky something will happen. Some adversity will happen and something unexpected will happen and you'll get tired and you'll get hungry, you'll have trouble going to the bathroom, and you'll lose your car keys, and all these wonderful things will add up to some powerful experience that 10 years from now we'll say "We lived, we lived." - Wayne Coyne on Coachella

I went and saw Spiritualized in L.A. in September (another myspace secret show), got there about 12 noon and was the first one in line. Didn't have to bring any kind of printout.

Just sat there and talked with fellow fans all day, drank sparks, smoked cigarettes, pretty much all there is to do on a sidewalk in front of a venue all day.

They passed out wristbands at around 6 from what I remember, show was at 8. Something like that.
    7/30 - Shabazz Palaces - Roxy
    7/31 - Hamilton Leithauser - Echo
    8/06 - Herbie Hancock - Hollywood Bowl (?)
    8/07 - Haim - Wiltern (?)
    8/08 - Spoon - Hollywood Forever

Thanks for the info. Did you feel like it was worth it to get there that early, or could you have shown up closer to 6 and been fine?

By 6 the line was wrapped around the block, and since not everyone got a wristband I'm sure people were turned away that really wanted to go.

For me, it was absolutely worth it to get there that early. And Deerhunter's like 100x more popular than Spiritualized right now, so I'd head over to the venue pretty quick if I were you. I was RIGHT up against the stage, front center, no barrier. I could have reached out and touched the lead singer's guitar if I wanted to.

People didn't really start showing up until around 2-3, if I remember correctly though. Probably about 20 people in line before then.

But yeah, GO for sure if you don't have work or something else you have to do! You'll be super glad you did.

The Rickshaw Stop is tiny. It's going to be a clusterfuck. Get there extremely early or don't bother.

God, they can't keep the lineup solid at all. I wonder why she wasn't there.

Glad you made it Zenidogx. I was beat from the night before and just lollygagged after seeing only a few people in line on my way home from work. After chilling at home I caught a 2nd wind and walked over. Got there at 8:30pm, 30min after doors and the line was around the corner. Gave it 15 min, then the bouncer announced it was at capacity. Oh well, I got a good fix on Tuesday night. I think I might have been pretty annoyed at all the drunk teenagers at the Rickshaw too. Just standing there, in line, I had two f*cks walk right into me. They were both probably 17-19 years old and sh*tfaced, trying really hard to be cool. When I walked home I was pretty content that I didn't get in.
