Definately "C-O-O-L", anyhow I still find it somewhat sad when albums get leaked. I hope you all buy the downloaded albums you enjoy. Don't forget, vinyl is forever.
kcrw played "Maps" the other day, then the dj mentioned they have a few new songs from them but decided to go with an older one...why they HELL would they do that?? promote the new album, that's why they gave those singles to them!
damn it I wanted to hear new stuff.
is this real?

I like the album far more than Show Your Bones quality-wise. It's not really comparable to Fever to Tell in any way at all. I like that its more darker and has a slower-tempo. The upsides are the dreamy synth-based tracks (tracks 3 and the 2nd to last track, most notably.) I
d give it 3.5 stars out of 5 -- 4 if you're a big fan of their's.
It's not what I expected, but it's still pretty good. 'Zero' has been in my head all day

I don't think it's up to snuff for electronic, dance, or the Yeah Yeah Yeahs. This album should have dropped 5 or 6 years ago when the band was already doing better things such as Y Control or Rich. It sounds dated already, two months before its release, and I don't think that's a very good thing.
fever to tell>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>it's blitz>>>>show your bones.
there are some good songs on there, such as heads will roll, dull life, and shame and fortune, but its a little too slow paced and a bit boring, especially for yeah yeah yeahs. it really sounds like TVotR's slower stuff (makes sense since it's produced by dave sitek), but there aren't any really good, energetic payoffs after the slow songs. and the guitar is not up in the mix, hopefully that will be different at coachella
^^ I agree with both the reviews of PierogiHead and hobomilitia. I have listened to the new album 3 times now, and it is definitely their most mellow work to date. I do appreciate that they are exploring other moods and attitudes.
no one has a link to this shit?

Ya know, Ive seen them live so many times that I was kinda "whatev" when I saw them on the lineup inititally.
But I really like this record (more each time I hear it actually) and now am really psyched to hear these songs live.
"Zero" will be soooo muuuuch fuuuun live.
"Dull Life" - "Shame and Fortune" - and whatever track 3 is, Soft something...
they're my favorites at the moment.
I think as an album it really shines, has its ups & downs properly placed. Overall feel of the songs is, yeah, like people say, less than Fever To Tell (but most albums are less than that onslaught of an album).
As far as new material goes, I find it incredibly enjoyable.
But man is "Zero" just pop bliss or what?
I love the asian vibe in "Dull Life" and I just can't stop listening to "Zero"...

I really like the new cd, my favorites are definitely soft shock, skeleton, and dull life, but it is pretty solid all they way through but I do have to agree it is no fever to tell.
Not even close to Fever To Tell. Definitely listenable though.
Right now I don't even consider it "Show Your Bones". I wish I could hear what you guys do
heads will roll on the floor
I love the new album. Better than Show Your Bones, which I liked as well. I really hope they get the sunset slot for Sunday, these new synthy songs would be killer to dance to as the fields cool off and the lights turn on...
I just listened to it and its kinda dull. Very mellow probably because they recorded it in the middle of winter during a blizzard so maybe that affected their sound. Fever to tell just had so much energy that balanced it with its mellower tracks so i'm kinda disapointed. Maybe it'll better live. I really hope they are not running out of gas.
it's complete shite.
the yyy's are one band that get worse and worse as they go on.
