One thing I will say - as a true DM diehard:

I HATE the album art. I wasn't feeling the new logo when i first saw it at the press conference, but now that everything is in place on the album cover - I am severly disappointed. I find it very ugly and hamfisted in design, but maybe that's just me.

Give me album art of old - Masses, Violator...etc...

I hate it too. WTF is up with the colors? DM doesn't do color. Other than red.

I posted this in the OTHER DM thread but it seems this is the official one now. I love that they're coming to my 'hood, but I HATE that it's the very last stop on a very long tour. I'm going to get a tired DM that just can't wait to get their asses home.

Then again if they DO play Lolla, all I hear about them and festivals is not exactly pretty stuff. I'M TORN!! (but totally leaning towards Lolla and probably my hometwon show too )

The board mod on the Lolla boards basically confirmed it. When the tour dates were announced and someone mentioned the gap, he/she said something like "well, that cat is finally out of the bag".

Ultra is one of their weakest albums. And dont bother with Exciter btw.

I love Exciter but i realize why it got such a bad reception. Ultra is no Music for the Masses, but it is worth listening to. It has actually become one of my favorite DM albums. It has a lot of great songs, and all of the Ultra songs are really strong live so it is a good album to at least be familiar with...


And it's the first album post-Alan Wilder...they did a hell of a job without his help.

Exciter is a pretty weak DM album...if your not a big DM fan you'd probably hate most of the album. But don't listen to anyone's opinions on Ultra just download it and see. Just give Ultra a chance and you can probably skip Exciter.

All i keep thinking is these guys have been playing for 30 years. Honestly, how many more times am I going be able to see them before they call it quits. After every album i think that it will probably be the last.

Fuck! I don't wanna have to miss Moz but im sure he'll play all over so cal in the fall. So possibly/probably no Coachella But DM is sooooooooo worth it.
