Okay the wait is over and the new site and contest is finally live! Just click the above link, and you'll see a page which has links to the rules PDF file (please read! - there's an html version too if you hate PDF), a history section, and obviously a sign up section.

There's a lot of new things added this year....gone is the entire budget/money system, and in its place is a new points system. No longer are you trying to keep under a budget of $10 million, but instead working within a ticket value price that will determine what bands you choose, and whether or not your festival will have sponsors and so on...

Anyway, I expect questions to be asked, so feel free to ask in here, but please at least read through the rules and try to understand it...and sign up as soon as you can...ideally I would like 32, but it will probably be within a 20-25 range....sign up is first come first serve....anyone can sign up.....don't worry about post count....post count will apply to voters (will have to have over 200 posts to vote - unless you're an actual participant of course).

My advice for people: create a unique lineup (no longer can you do bowie, prince, and radiohead in the same festival), have a cool location, and pick your bands and festival extras wisely, as they'll all have an effect on your ticket value (since they all carry point values). Anyway, check out the site and feel free to chat/ask questions about it....oh, and what is/was with that message? Hmmmm.....

I found out today that winner of this contest (aside from getting 3 bootlegs of his/her choice from my collection) will also now be receiving a special mystery prize from Psychic Friend and Goldenvoice! Not sure what it will be, but it will def be something very cool and worth playing for...so keep that in mind. A special Psychic Friend mystery prize awaits the winner of this thing....EXCITING!

The no-special performances rule is probably the one I have the biggest problem with. One of the things I like the most at festivals and live shows are when artists get together and create something unique to the festival. There's no way we could have feasibly put a point system on special performances?

Well, for example, neither Coachella nor Bonnaroo (or any fesival I can think of for that matter) bill when an artist will have a special guest performer. I does ruin one of my idea though... I do think I have an idea how to get around it though.

You will also not be allowed to have no curfew in regards to set times, instead settling on a 12pm-12am block for each of the three days, and set by DJ Momjeans. No getting out of it.
