hey everyone. here is some rumours that are surrounding the festival so here we go:

announcement: sometime in april.. (apparently they are waiting for the state budget to be finalized so they can negotiate the final fees to the park. for sure the city wants it back)

headliners they are going for as top priority:
Pearl Jam-friday
Bruce Springsteen-saturday
The Dead/Phish-Sunday

other top bands they are interested in:
Santana
Faith No More
Beastie Boys
The White Stripes


this is basic rumored stuff from radio people in the bay area so ill keep digging to see if anything sticks.. but its nice to know it looks like its back and they will improve from last year with alot of additions since last year went well financially....

Tommmmmmy OSL is a must. I hope they figure out some of the issues with the first one, such as sound...but besides the fest there is a whole weekend livin' it up in SF, eating at good restaurants, and plus I have a lot of friends there so housing is free.

I'm a single guy with no dependents and I have a well-paying job (for what I need in life). I spend most of my disposable income on concerts and trips in general. I do WISH I married Mark Cuban, though. I'd be in Mexico and SA next month seeing Radiohead.

the info i got came from a radio exec im friends with for years so he is cool enough to say that is what he is heariing.. i just want the festival back. i could only afford saturday last year and although the layout was a but rough, it had alot of positives and a great party vibe so i think they wil improve on it..

They would have to pull a crazy good lineup to get me to return. I went for Radiohead last year and wasn't impressed with the festival as a whole. Golden Gate park did make for a gorgeous venue, although thoroughly cluster-fucked.

Last year, I went to Coachella, Primavera, Radiohead 2x, Nick Cave 2x and a bunch of other shows and went to Prague, Barcelona, Stuttgart & Florence. I own a house and have 2 cars.

If you are clever with your money, you can make it go a long, long way. Most people though prefer $4 coffees and blowing $90 a month on cable.
