Coachella Newbie

So ive finally decided to take the plunge and buy my Coachella tickets but im in need of some help. Im going to go alone and probaly get onsite camping, so is this going to be such a bad thing ? Also what is the best method in getting there ? I live in the San Fernando Valley which is like 30 mins away from LA. But i would also be interested in Carpooling with someone.

Consider joining. You can have an absolute blast coming by yourself, even if you don't join a group from the board. Read the main website, read the camping forum, look at pictures - all your questions will be answered. There's also a carpooling forum. You will have a great time. Welcome!

I don't think going alone will be a problem. It gives you a great amount of freedom. Usually the person you go with and you will differ on certain if not many bands that conflict. This has happened to me and I always ditch them and meet up later. So embrace your freedom.

i'll be leaving thursday night if you want to carpool. just expect to have the best time of your life! being there alone is no problem. your going to make friends, unless your that retarded as fool from "the wedding crashers" that likes to "smear his blood all over a canvas"

Haven't camped out yet myself, but will this year. However as far as the concerts by yourself aspect is concerned, I did it last year and it was great, you'll have tons of fun.

Bring a big battery powered fan. Your tent will feel like the inside of a microwave by 9am.

101 to the 134 which becomes the 210. All the way to the 10 freeway.

Cuts out a lot of the downtown and San Gabriel Valley traffic.
If you go on Friday leave around 9:30am just after traffic. Anytime after 2pm you will be stuck in some of the worst traffic you can imagine.
