Isis announced today, that they will be breaking up after this tour. This is a really sad day for the metal community.

Its all Dio's fault. His death has left the metal community in shambles.

I was joking the other night that Dio and Peter Steele were toasting with giant goblets filled with blood in the afterlife.

At least they have the courtesy to go through one last tour before they do. Anyone going? I really want to check it out.

I wish but unfortunately they aren't coming anywhere near me. They are playing 2 shows in Boston (their hometown) with The Melvins that I'm really considering trying to go to.

They are supposed to release a 6 track EP with the tracks they scored for the film. Really looking forward that that.

Not really metal, but didn't know where to put it. Don't really like their previous albums but this is fucking sick.

I already said this in another thread but the Isis side of the Isis/Melvins split is really good. The Boris/Torche split is also really fucking solid.

I wanted to go to Tucson to see Boris but I am not going to make it and thus I am sad. I am happy that I will be seeing the Altar set with Sunn O))), though. I have not seen Sunn O))) before!

Has anyone seen Liturgy live? I'm seeing them Wednesday and I can't wait but I'm curious whether they'll meet my rather high expectations or not.

I know most of you aren't into metal this heavy but is anyone going (or already went) to the Summer Slaughter tour?

    The lineup:

    Decapitated
    Faceless
    All Shall Perish
    The Red Chord
    Veil of Maya
    Decrepit Birth
    Vital Remains

I missed it in Phoenix. I wonder how Decapitated is without Vitik. Faceless should be really good as well.

Bunch of my friends went to the Summer Slaughter show here and said it was great. I'm especially a big Decapitated fan, but was skeptical about the band after Vitek's death...apparently they were still great.

That's good to hear. I saw them once with Vitek and they were flawless. Watching him warm up on before their set was like another drum solo. Sad that he died in that accident.

Yeah, Decapitated was great last night, so was Decrepit Birth and The Faceless. All Shall Perish sucks, as does Veil of Maya. The Red Chord was alright. The only band I wanted to see and missed was Cephalic Carnage. The thing went from 2:30 pm to midnight. Definitely worth it for $20. Oh and Mr. Dibbs (hip hop) was hanging out at a bar nearby afterwards. I talked to him for a minute, nice guy.
