Isis... there are so many bands around where I only ever buy one of their albums - got one got them all kind of thing. But go and get ALL of the Isis albums ! Even though the have a similar sound , the music is so dense and layered with brilliance and are all different in subtle ways. And whoever said they are boring live doesn't deserve ears. They have also spawned some awesome other projects over the years - Old Man Gloom ( and maybe Red Sparrowes ) being my favorite. It will interesting to who else rises from their ashes.
I love Neurosis and can listen to pretty much anything they have done.
I agree with your recommendations of Russian Circles & Pelican etc all of a slightly similar vein and all pretty awesome. Would maybe add ( sorry if any/all of these have been previously mentioned ) Buried Inside, Cave In, Intronaut, Narrows, Rosetta, Spylacopa, Taint, and never forget the mighty and amazing Cult of Luna, just a fucking amazing band !
My contribution to the stoner rock discussion would be Witch. I will have to check out the new Orange Goblin as Big Black is awesome.
Witch is awesome, for those that don't know J Mascis plays drums in the band
My favorite Isis album is Panopticon, my favorite song of the title song on Celestial though
Thou is fucking awesome, but I've said it before and I'll say it again, they have oversaturated the market right now
Sweet Jesus, "So Did We" is so fucking good

It helps that they still have Pat O'Brien and Rob Barret -- but Jack Owen was the man and Chris Barnes was way better than Corpsegrinder.
Seeing them open for Tool was a treat I must say, considering their demise.

This tour makes me want to grow a mullet. On my balls.
So it seems that because Black Sabath decided to fuck over Bill Ward, and Tony Iommi's health problems, the Black Sabbath tour has now turned into Ozzy & Friends feat. Geezer Butler, and Slash. Not sure who the drummer is going to be, probably who ever has been playing with Ozzy after Puffy left.
Anyone in the Bay Area interested in going to Messugah/Baroness @ the Fillmore 5/6? Cannot wait to hear Baroness' new stuff!
Have any of y'all listened to Pilgrim? Fairly new doom group but I'm really enjoying their debut.

Hurry the fuck up already!
(ps - this would have been an epic Coachella booking. Instead, it was an epic fail)
Norwegian. Put out Blackjazz a couple/few years back. Will they ever play here?
Is Liturgy any good live? I've heard mixed reviews.

Liturgy SOUND amazing live. Hunter looks like he'd rather be dead than on stage though.

You guys might like this Zig Zags 7" I just bought. Mexican Summer put it out. Pretty fucking awesome. Old school sounding, recorded like shit. Really good.

Today is Soundwave. I am like a kiddy at Christmas. I love this festival. Starting my day a bit later this year and will be watching Meshuggah first. Somehow they got lumbered with a 2.30pm time slot. This should be around the hottest part of the expected 37 degree day (that's celsius - i cannot convert to your wacky imperial measurements) My day will also include - Bad Religion, Mastodon, Slipknot, System of a Down, Dillinger Escape Plan & Raised Fist.
My mates will start arriving soon for my traditional pre-festival bbq brunch so we get nourishment before the shennanigins begin.
